So does any justification for consuming food that others believe they have stronger claim to.

Which is why we use our capability for abstract thought, sometimes: To weigh the justice of claims and respond accordingly.

I totally get that.
But I've often wondered - why live?
To survive?
Why survive?
To enjoy the pleasures of life?
Are they really worth the hardships though?
After all, when you die, you just doesn't exist anymore, so why even bother?
All these years of hardships after hardships only to just die one day.
The reward is significantly lower than the effort you put in though, won't you say?

I remember puberty. That's the time when people traditionally have these kinds of thoughts.
When you get a bit older you tend to just knuckle down and get on with it.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

I never want to go back to my grade school, teen and early 20s years. Young dumb and full of angst, insecurity way too sensitive. Didn't understand that other people's baggage did not have to be mine. Thought mere attraction or a girl/woman smiling at me, because I liked them, just that meant love. UGGGG I was fucking stupid.

Believe me, while I don't like my body aging. I am sooooooooo glad I am free from that prison. Once you get to the point of not giving  fuck, you feel lots better.

Correct answer=Level up, reach maximum level, find good gear, customize awesome character, get sick of awesome character, realize it's a pointless character, make new character and repeat the process over and over.

Maybe the meaning of real life and virtual life do indeed have some similarities

There is no meaning, and the purpose is to further life, as far as I can see.

I know only hedonistic reasons for not committing suicide.

Drink a beer. Enjoy a chocolate ice-cream. Fuck, and be merry.

Someone wise once said that the meaning of life is to survive and to find meaning in it.
I like your purpose of life though. However I don't understand what you mean by

Perhaps someone could provide with some examples?

I find this logic interesting, because I feel the total opposite. If this is our only shot at life and what comes next is absolute nothingness...then why wouldn't I try to make the most out of this life? Assuming that we just cease existing after death, that puts so much more pressure on us to enjoy our one life as best as we can. I mean, this is life. It's all we know. Would I say that the reward is lower than the effort? Hell no.

I'd be less inclined to think this way if I believed in an afterlife. Which is why I always think it's hilarious if a theist asks, "What's the point of life if it's all over after we die?" because I always wonder, "What's the point of life if we get another one?"
