Or.. what is the purpose of being alive? What difference does it make if someone is alive or not? What should hold someone out from committing suicide if there is no meaning or purpose to this pathetic of an excuse of time on this shithole of a planet?..

On a serious note, there is a strong theory to explain an important purpose for life to develop and continue its existence, and it's related to the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics (which is ironically one which theistic apologists love to spin canards from to "prove" that life by natural causes is "impossible"). The meaning is to experience happiness what ever it maybe to you. Life is a one-way experience try to improve things and turn that work into more time for happiness. Life in undeniable, turn on some Jimmy Hendrix look off above the horizon and feel the slight breeze the moment is there and much better than oblivion as where Jimmy is, but he left something for us to continue to experience and it is still good. Just try your best, and put up with some pain, that is part of life. Try to be happy in the simplistic if you can't afford to jump off helicopters onto snowy mountain peaks to get your rush. Sooner or later it will end, why push it. I know what hell on Earth is and sometimes only a beer on the tailgate and seeing the stars for awhile is enough to keep trying to improve the next day.

All we do is eat sleep complain have fun and piss each other off and now and then have wars over the dumbest things. Outside of that
if there meaning to life no were just lucky to be alive other than that you yourself meaning me you and every other highly advanced

My personal belief is that your purpose in life is what you make it.There are quite allot of failsafes to prevent a person from committing suicide (mine being family, since they would be sad if i was gone.Also all the effort my parent went though to raise me would be in vain and it would destroy the peaceful life we have crafted for ourselves)

Personally, i just try and make life as fun as possible and deal with any problem that comes in my way head on.I also can't wait to see what happens in the future, i really hope we advance more into Outer Space.
