You will of course be backing up that statement with evidence, I presume.

It's been that way for all of history.

I find it absolutely depressing to see the number of people determined to make this guy out to be some kind of monster. Try listening to what these people saw in the war. If I watched someone pin a kid down in the street and drill holes into his skull, then you can be rest assured that I would kill that person, and I would think they are a savage, and I would be proud that I am on the side of people that do NOT drill holes into children's heads.
What do you seriously think was going on overseas? Do you think there were no savages? Just a bunch of liberal moderates that we shot up?

That's why I'm slow to judge military people. Not that I don't think their actions are objectively wrong, but just that I understand that a person can never really imagine what its like unless they've been there themselves.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

People are always eager to send troops off to kill strangers in distant lands and when they do they get pissed about how they kill them. Any method is OK as long as you win and get to march in the victory parade because that's all the troops will ever get from the people who sent them to do the killing.

He is neither hero nor monster. He is a man assigned a necessary task in war.
From what I've read, as long as they were Arab, Kyle didn't give two shits whether he was killing innocent or guilty. To be honest I can't escape the feeling that he was psychopath, and if he had lived longer would have gone on a killing spree.

And that's with or without Kyle . . .
How do you make that out, that there were sacrifices made for them?
1) The country was invaded without provocation nor without justification by the US and its lackeys.
2) The invasion had nothing to do with restoring the country, as noted by the lack of a plan to introduce democracy, the sacking of the first US imposed governor quickly after it became evident that he had a plan to restore democracy, the insertion of oil giveaway laws into the imposed constitution the country currently labours under, the massive backhanders and bribes given to US companies to "reconstruct" the country when they were actually being paid to do nothing of the sort, and finally the deliberate policy of raising sectarian tensions between the ethnic groups within Iraq which has lead directly to the current murderous state of the country.
The US occupation of Iraq is not far off Nazi Germany's occupation of France or Belgium in intent and effect.

Does it always have to be some kind of Hitler comparison? The Iraq invasion was botched and quite a few people had lining their pockets in mind, but it's a far cry from the Nazi occupation of France or Belgium.

I think people here are well aware of what was happening over seas, the problem with Chris Kyle was that he took a lot of pleasure in killing people, which in my eyes makes him a monster. War is probably the perfect place for a guy like that, but just because he fought against other monsters doesn't make him any less of a monster.
