Idiot, running his mouth on something he hasn't got the first clue about. In 1934 it was already a one party system. There haven't been any elections. Hitler just took the office of president in addition to his chancellory. The last step to ultimate power.
Plebiscit North Korean style. This is what the author fails to mention in his article.

Hitler was elected President of Germany on August 19, 1934. He received 90% of the vote.

That wasn't an election. That was a plebiscite approving the Parliament's move to merge the Presidency and the Chancellorship. Hitler assumed the duties of the former office a full seventeen days before ... by agreement with the Army, in return for purging the SA.
Surprised that such an obvious fan of the NaZis is so obviously ignorant of their history.

How many people would have voted against FDR becoming world dictator?

What if all your weird fantasies were reality? I don't exactly shudder to think of your sanctimonious what-if politics, because there were some very good reasons why the events which you suggest may have actually didn't, and those reasons still work today.

It takes a special class of crazy to think that in 1933 the US had the power to do much of anything. We were totally fucked flat by the depression.
In 1939 the US Army ranked 19th in the world. Behind Portugal, as a matter of fact. We weren't dictating shit to anyone.

Why do you have such a problem with historical events? The article shows that people thought that FDR would be the preferred choice for world dictator. He didn't act on it directly but we are still coping with the things he did, especially in the Middle East. On the domestic front he was as much of a racist as Woodrow Wilson. His wife covered it up. If it hadn't been for her he probably would have brought back slavery. He did absolutely nothing to integrate the country. If he had become world dictator it would have been hell on Earth.

Why don't you read some actual history - don't be scared now, actually learning something isn't all that bad!

World conquest in 1933? Be serious.
