I'm wondering why that isn't the correct response, and how it is a distinction has been made between a correct and an incorrect response? It would be mine. I've already heard the stories....I still don't care. God popping down from wherever won't change the fact that I don't give a shit.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

You know I used to be a christian, right? A Catholic in fact. Its not like I've stuck my fingers in my ears, I just realized I was talking to myself all that time.

Because I realized that all the reasons I had for believing were fallacious and unfounded, and that anything I attributed to a 'god' in the past were either my own personal thoughts and beliefs or simply chance events. And I didn't just "decide" to stop believing, I realized I simply couldn't believe, I was no longer convinced.
The fact that the Catholic church has so much about it that I now consider horridly immoral and harmful is beside the point, but looking back on it I don't know how I ever could believe that stuff, except that of course it was pushed onto me from a very young age.
