So lets say God appeared right in front of you.

Stop trying so hard Frodo. You're a plastic Christian anyway. Either buy into the bible fully or not at all. If you evolved, the bibles wrong from the first fucking page, why buy into the rest of it?

No, you see Skip, the creation bits conveniently aren't literal (but the bits about Christ doing miracles and resurrecting conveniently are).

Nice diversion Skipper. You are completely wrong... the first book of Genesis says nothing about material creation. You, along with creationist nutjobs, are welcome to misinterpret it all you like.

Genesis is blatantly about literal creation and you conveniently interpret it as allegory.

It would be about time..I asked him well over 20 years ago to appear in front of me. I would be like "where the Fuck have you been? I got tired of waiting and have now become an absurdist/atheist since then"

I will speak my mind regardless. Its all about wether he allows me to control my mouth, but I will still think it and him being all knowing would already know what I was going to ask him a kazillion years ago. So yeah, my one question would be "where the fuck have you been?". He can answer "I have always been here", to which I will answer "so you like people killing and enslaving and raping each other then? You're such a dick!". Or he could answer; "I have seperated myself from mankind in order to allow freewill to exist", in which my response will be: "so you like people killing and enslaving and raping each other then? You're such a dick!". You see, "freewill" makes ZERO difference. If Jebus really didnt like what was going on, he would find a way to snap his fingers to correct it WITHOUT interfering with freewill. Jebus has not done such a thing, therefore Jebus is a dick who likes to see children get raped and murdered. It makes better sense that Jebus is merely a fictional being.

I get to choose between a giant douche bag or a turd sandwich? I have a choice between eternal torture worshipping and adoring a fictional character that I dispise, or an eternity of torture burning in a lake of fire? I may as well be a recipient of the curse of Sisyphus, I can push that rock up the mountain until it rolls back down and do it for all eternity. I refuse to answer this one as both are the same kind of punishment to me.

Now if Hell is a big party place with half naked red skinned demons and demonesses flying around and getting it on, then maybe I would choose that..Is heaven full of toga wearing lasses that serve you beer and hot pretzels? I might go there. But if heaven and hell are EXACTLY how it is described in the bible, then I dont want to go to either.

WRONG! It is blatantly about physical creation. It SPECIFICALLY speaks of "day and night" when it means that the world was created in 6 days. It has man being created from DIRT. Now was that "spiritual" dirt, or material dirt? What is the "spiritual" implications of a woman being created from a mans rib?

Genesis describes a creation. Why interpret that as metaphorical?

I'm not Certainty, I'm Doubt.

Whilst I believe material creation to have been caused by God, Genesis never addresses it.
Creation, as translated accurately from the biblical word 'bara', means to 'bring into order', and never to 'bring into existence from nothing' which is the assumed meaning from people trying to shoe horn a modern materialist view onto it.
Now 'creating' day and night seems illogical if you consider God had already created light... but the actual meaning is that God setup time.
This is all in line with ancient thinking we have record of... that the ontology was functional rather than material in nature.

God didn't produce man out of dirt... he formed him from the dirt. He formed Eve from a rib ...this isn't meant to be literal.. it's showing God ordering everything. Separating and making sense out of chaos.

Read Genesis like that and it makes perfect sense. Read it like it's supposed to explain making something from nothing and it makes no sense, because that is never what is being said.

How do you know which parts are literal and which are not? Why is your interpretation of which parts are literal and which are not the right one?

ROFLOL

I love it, "Read it like I tell you and then it proves I'm right".

Let me give that a shot:

Read the bible like it was written as a way of understanding things the uneducated, uninformed people from thousands of years ago couldn't understand or have known and it proves god don't exist.

See, I can do it too.

Wait..did he create time or did he "set up" time? You cant have matter without time (E=MC2). I'm not sure if I am following you, nor can I figure out why you would stand behind the bible, yet water down its words like this?

I cant even make sense of how I am supposed to read the bible like you want me to. Does this mean you want me to read it as if it is nothing more than fiction? If so, then yes, I already do that.
