I think human beings are so very tiny and insignificant that the idea of a god who cares about us is a bit ridiculous. It's like if the bacteria on a slice of cheese all thought I created the cheese just for them and loved each and every one of them when in reality I am only barely aware of their existence and I try hard not to think about it.

Eat the cheese. Ask questions later.

If only bacteria was able to build pyramids or copycat celestial phenomena like nuclear explosion.
We might be small, but our beauty, intelligence, how we grow like plants and flowers yet to become a name and a family; this the daughter/son of that, all the drama and debates we have.
Well..no Losty, it is strange, TBH. Worth a moment.

Meh we are pretty neat to us. I doubt we'd be impressive to any God who created the entire universe. We are just bacteria on a tiny crumb of cheese

Wait, I thought we were pathetic?
If we're awesome now, does that disprove god?

It really doesn't matter much either way.
Humans are fragile, weak animals who have to defecate and procreate and eat food = God.
Humans are amazing and unique seperate from animal life due to our amazing intelligence = God.
I don't see how either implies there is god or not a god.
a desolate universe doesn't prove to me there's no god and a complex intelligent brain DEFINITELY doesn't prove there is a god to me.
It baffles me when religious people point to human uniqueness in comparison with other animals as a sign of god. We're the most intelligent ape and that inherant ability is magnified by a strict culture of education. Take away that culture of education and have a baby raised by dogs you don't get a kid who's going to work for NASA, advance medical science or do any "unique" human things, they're going to walk on all fours and shit in the corner.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.

Losty and Rob:
Pathetic indeed, but a golden shell surrounds us; so shiny that it catches and keeps the ego burning and burning..
Let's say, an infinite factory of illusion?
Delusions atop of delusions, nothing more, nothing less. Personally, it's a design that seems so well constructed to make "deceiving" very easy.
Isn't life a test? how would the test be complete, with a golden cover?
No. We are pathetic, but at the same time: awesome, at a very very small scale/contex.
We are the slaves, made to worship. Our worship to God is life, no shame in that. We worth nothing without God. That's how it's defined
