The latest electoral projection give Hillary a minimum of 304 electoral votes - 34 more than is needed to win.

This is why.
It's that pesky little thing called reality.

They aren't slurs, they are facts.
What I find amazing is that every electoral cycle the republicans find more horrible/moronic people to represent them and each time I think they've hit bottom, but every time they do find someone worse. I was trying to think of an extreme example of someone they might elect next time but after a while I realised I was just describing trump. He's hyperbole proof.

Until fairly late in the 2008 election cycle, there was basically a 'Hillary or Bust' movement. I think the breast-beating over Bernie is just more of the same. Everybody likes who they voted for, but eventually most of them get over it. It's like the stages of grief.

To be fair, they didn't find him. They fought him tooth and claw along the way. Still do. It's what they call their base which is drifting more and more to the extreme right. It's like the Goethe poem which Disney turned into Fantasia. The wizards apprentice called the ghosts that are now haunting himself and he doesn't know the spell to get rid of them.
Also, to be fair, the democrats aren't much better. This would have been a perfect opportunity to bring on some fresh candidate with real ideas to reform a country suffering under the corporate spell. But no, they presented Hilary, the perfect corporate shill. Which is still the lesser evil for everyone on this planet, but lesser still is evil.

I'm going to laugh so hard if the super delegates change their minds.

Obviously you do not know much about Trump. I'd suggest actually watching some of his stump speeches, debates, and interviews. It's Trump's actions and words that brand him racist, sexist, and xenophobic. He says Mexico sends us rapists. He blames unemployment on them. He blames all of the United States' economic woes on Mexico and China. He has said blacks are unemployable. He is casually sexist. Of course he also says he loves China, loves hispanics, loves women. It's just that he also wants to bury them all.
His words also brand him as either a liar or appallingly ignorant. He does not know what Nato does. He thinks China's attempt to strengthen their currency will increase the trade deficit (because people always buy more when things get more expensive?). He cannot pronounce what he calls Tanz Zane Eee Ah. He thinks waterboarding and torture are legal and a really good thing. Now he would like to pay back U.S debt at pennies on the dollar.
His tax scheme has changed 180 degrees at least three times during his run. So has his position on Obama Care, minimum wage, abortion, and the interest rate. I have no idea what he believes because he either hasn't formed an opinion yet, or doesn’t want us to know what that opinion is.
He's also casually cruel. Google "little Rubio." Try Clinton can't satisfy the nation because she can't satisfy Bill. Better yet, google his statements about Ted Cruz's father being associated with Lee Harvey Oswald, said after it was clear Trump was going to take Indiana anyway. But four hours later he said Cruz was a great guy. POWs are losers not heros. Making fun of the handicapped on national TV is great fun. It's all on video. His favorite bible verse is an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth. Don't read the comentary, watch him do and say it.
But he's very very smart (he tells us so in syllables of two or usually less), he's very handsome, his penis is big, women love him, the blacks love him, hispanics love him---how could we doubt it , he said so himself. And the really, really great thing about him? He's rich. His words not mine.
And yet he can't talk about his wealth without embellishing the numbers two or three hundred percent. What he says he has and what Forbes and Fortune think he has are dramatically different. If he had simply put his inherited money in a stock index fund, he'd be worth close to what he actually is worth today. He has succeeded at real-estate (despite or perhaps because of three bankruptcies), beauty pagents, and reality TV. He's failed at steak, vodka, perfume, football, and airlines. He pretends the steak is still a thing, though he doesn't bother to remove the local butchers labels.

Trump's appeal stems from him legitimizing idiocy. There are a ton of racist, sexist, homophobic, ablist, dumb motherfuckers in this country, people who feel repressed because their toxic brand of idiocy isn't really tolerated by mainstream society. Trump feeds off of it and echoes it back to them. They praise him for "telling it like it is," when that's really code for "Finally! Someone in power is saying what I feel! I can revel in being an asshole!"
The only 'good' thing to come out of his candidacy is bringing a lot of terrible people out of the shadows. We have a ton of work to do as a society.
