Even if you choose not to believe in god, you’re actually believing in god

I knew it would happen eventually. This is demonstration that some consider Facebook an online text for homeschooling.

RE: Even if you choose not to believe in god, you’re actually believing in god
So our friend here went from being an atheist who believes the universe exists, to a theist who believes the universe exists but calls it God?

I don't see the difference, or the point. I could call the universe Jimmy Four-Legs, then I'd believe in that too.

It feels like a way to slip some woo in the back door via an equivocation fallacy. Why you'd want to do that, I don't know. It's using "God" to mean both the universe, and to imply a load of other things via a different, well known meaning,

But far be it from me to tell people what they should call things. If it makes you happy my friend, you go for it Smile

We already have a word for the Universe. That word...is "Universe." What is gained by calling it god instead?
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

You know what? I don't really think you believe in god. God doesn't exist anywhere, so believing in him is the same as believing in nothing, so you don't believe in god.

If you can see the problem with the above statement, you should be able to see the problem with the statement you're asking us to consider.

Since it's impossible to disbelieve, the reason i'm hoping to influence you, is to make you aware of it. Because once you are aware of it, there's a vast amount more the universe has to offer once you believe. Once you're open to the faith as well. I've experienced it myself. Since you already believe, making it known to you is helpful then wouldn't it be?

God exists in you as you, so believing in god as yourself is simply a greater awareness of who you really are.

My statement is solid.

Because god implies being alive and conscious. so if you were aware that the universe thinks, and you are apart of that thinking, wouldn't that influence you as who you are as a person, if not the entire world?

And where is your evidence, that universe is alive and conscious? You don't have any? Oh, well then - I don't believe you. And I still don't believe in gods.

No, it doesn't imply that, if you're defining it to be the universe.

See my video above. You're doing exactly what I suspected.

If I called the universe a frog, would that mean the universe is green and likes to live in ponds?

If you want to make a case that the universe has additional properties, you need to do so directly, not with equivocations.

Facepalm

So the Universe thinks now? What evidence is there of that, exactly?

Why does thinking have to be a property of something grand like God or the universe?

Perhaps we think because, as complex as we are, we are limited beings and we need to think about things to move forward. But why should that be the case for God or the universe?
