Which is one of the main problems with your god. He already knows that I will never accept christ, so the only reason for me to exist is for your god's sadistic pleasure in sending me to hell.
That's your choice if you stick with it, He gives you a way out if you will take it. How do you know that God knows you will accept Christ in the future, it's for certain you can't know the future.

I can know that I will never accept christ. Under coercion, I might say that I do, but I will never mean it. I truly believe that there is no god, no possibility of a god, no scenario at all that would even allow for a god to exist. How could I accept christ under those beliefs? So, yes, I can 'foretell' my future in that respect. I will never accept christ.

You know what would be really nice? If your purported omnipotent being didn't have such thin skin. The idea that he simply cannot abide by certain things we limited beings do is laughable in the extreme.

This is not at all the view of modern scholarship. Peter was an illiterate peasant who spoke Aramaic; he did not know Greek, and hence, he did not write anything that is part of the historical record. Few individuals did. You can repeat a lie a thousand times; it does not change the fact that such is still a falsehood.
However, it amazes me that you can so readily dismiss the Gospel that bears Peter's name. Who do you think wrote it?
Peter didn't write it, it's contrary to what he did write. Peter wasn't illiterate, he was a business man, and scripture tells us that after Pentecost the people were amazed at who well Peter spoke, it was with great clarity and intelligence. Who said that Peter had to write in Greek, those are copies of what he could have wrote in Aramaic. Think these things through.

Tell me, GC, do you believe the following:
Quote:Mathew 27:51-54: And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom;
The Jewish priest weren't going to that's for sure, they knew it would spread and help the claims of the disciples.
Quote: and the earth shook, and the rocks were split;the tombs also were opened,
Earth quakes were common in that area and just because we haven't found writings about the event form other sources doesn't mean it's not true.
Quote: and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city ahat's for surend appeared to many.
You going to discard this because it's supernatural, that's okay but it is recorded in the Bible. Did you notice that Christ rose before they did as prophecy said, Christ would be the first to rise.
Quote: When the centurion and those who were with him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe, and said, "Truly this was the Son of God!"
Wouldn't you have said the same thing, being a witness to such supernatural events. [/quote]
Jehanne Wrote:So, there was an earthquake which had just followed an eclipse (v45); why did no one else record these events, GC?
Who said that there was an eclipse and as I said the quakes were common in that area and could have been recorded but lost to history, and surely you do not think that all earth quakes have been recorded.

Only because sanctimonious fucktards ( look in a mirror for an example) burned anyone who disagreed at the stake. Want to get back to the good old days don't you, G-C? It was so much easier for bible-thumping morons back then.
Your horseshit has been in trouble since the 18th century....when the church lost its grip on political power. No wonder you are dying out.

Didn't God make everyone? So if God made everyone then he made some "defective" just so that he could get pissed at his imperfect creations. After all, he saves those whom he wants to save and condemns those whom he wants to condemn. The individual has no say in what happens to himself.
Have you ever stopped to consider that by worshiping Jesus you are not worshiping God? Jesus was nowhere to be found in the Old Testament fairy tales. He pops up in the New Testament fairy tales just like Satan did. The result is that the Jesus character got people to abandon God worship and to start worshiping him. If he was still wiggling on the cross there might be some justification in that but even when he was supposedly alive he never did anything godly. Paul said that if the dead don't return to life then your faith is in vain. Have you ever seen any zombies pop out of the graveyard and visit you?
Once the con men like Peter found out that they could hoodwink dummies into giving them their cash they were off to the races. (Acts 5:1-11). It's all about the money.

You are wanting to get into an area of God's rights as creator, this can be a complicated discussion that could take quite a while to complete, it would be better to do as a study than on a forum. God has providence over His entire creation and thus God is justified in anything He does that is within who He is. You need to understand this part of God's plan, it's to redeem all those who will accept His Son, Jesus Christ, for who He is and what He did for us. God is not in the business of tempting people to sin, that would be contrary to who He is.
I was doing something in our discussion that I rarely ever do and that's to speculate a situation that would not ever happen and I should have let you know that to begin with, sorry.
I'm not even sure how to try and go through a discussion like this in a forum format. I'll look up some theological explanations in one of my book to see if I can come up with something, could take some time. Just remember this, we understand from the scriptures that God can not sin and He will not tempt someone to sin, both would be contrary to who God is. I'm sure I've confused this even more and, shouldn't have started this discussion speculating an impossible situation, again I'm sorry, ask more questions and I'll try and get back to you Monday, have a good weekend.
It's interesting to think that God could appear before me and say, "I, God, command you to poke a baptist in the eye!"
And I could reply, "Nope. I'm an atheist. Not gonna do what you say, sorry."
And we would both be morally justified.
I'll bet a God who wasn't omnibenevolent would do that kind of thing, too. Just for fun. You didn't read what I posted did you or if you did you ignored it, either way it's still shows you do not want to have a real discussion about God.
God would never appear to you, it's not the way He works. As I said before God would not ask you to poke someone in the eye, it's not what He does, you are thinking in a child's way.
When God tells someone what His will is for them and they deny and/or ignore it then they sin and are guilty and worthy of being judged.
God doesn't play with His creation, if there was a god like that none of us would stand a chance. I actually made a mistake I thought you were interested in what I believed God was like, but like most atheist you seem only in your own conclusions no matter how wrong they are, interesting for someone who believe atheist are so much smarter than Christians. If you are really interested post to me again if not then we should call it quits at this point in time.
