I suspect on this we are in agreement.

Absolutely, in context (as simple as I've made it) I'm only using GDP as a measure of brute economic potential.  I found a fun little map that might help explain to some™ of our posters how foolhardy the decision to leave is by putting world economies into the context our our union - a union which most people can immediately identify as the sort of union you don't want to leave.

It only takes -one- wealthy US state to reach parity with the UK.  With texas as an example, we could throw in florida to meet the numbers.  That's how great, Great Britain is in context of the EU...and also, conveniently, how great the idea to leave the EU is.  If california, or texas and florida..left the US, it wouldn't be the US that shouldered the brunt of the subsequent misery, and California (or texas and florida) wouldn't benefit from such a split. If I saw successionist californians talking about how they'd recover..and are better off without us, I'd laugh in their impoverished faces and ask if they missed the smell of money - and I'm from the Ukraine on that map...lol.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Is it true that the churches send kids door to door selling guns to raise money?

It is, that is how I got my S&W. Cute little blonde girl came up and how can you say no to those blue eyes or cute little bodyguard S&W? I mean the thing fits in my hand!

Bella, what you need to understand is that in this day and age, every political decision by any country affects the whole world.

There is no such thing as splendid isolation. For what it's worth, unless we're talking about Micronesia, we all have to suffer the consequences. So it's only natural that we all get invested.

I think the EU would trade the UK for Texas right about now. What say you brits, lets get done with all this special friendship song and dance and declare you a state? Particularly in light of your soon-to-be dependence upon -this- Union?

You know you've always wanted to have a howitzer in your backyard.....and I think the germans are the only people who buy more assless chaps and cowboy hats. Wink
