Hillary Picks Tim Kaine for VP

Hillary Picks Tim Kaine for VP
Safe over Exciting

It's going to piss-off the Bernie crowd because he's another centrist but I can see the appeal. His closet is skeleton-free and nobody dislikes him. He's dull but that may be what the ticket needs. He may come across as a breath of fresh air in a contest between candidates which are anything but dull - in the wrong way.

Going thru everything we've been thru so far (with the expectation of a rougher 3 months to go) to put a woman in the White House, and then she thinks an old white fuck should be 'a heartbeat away' ??

Am I fucking missing something ??

If she thinks that is going to give her votes she is fucking playing herself even more to loose.

She is a republican through and through she isn't a democrat.

Yep. She just lost more Bernie voters. Shame.

Julian Castro, Elizabeth Warren, Corey Booker, all would have excited the young people she so desperately needs. Instead, she picked a scandal free version of herself that everyone had to Google.

Fuck me. Well, prepare yourselves for President Trump.

You should just not talk sometimes. You make yourself look kinda dumb.

The deck is stacked in her favor. Even after the FBI tongue-lashing over the email thing and the RNC convention bounce, the best Trump can do is pull even nationally. And Hillary still is ahead in the electoral college. She didn't need to go with a hail Mary pass with her VP pick.

I would have loved to see her go with Warren but the two would have butted heads for 4/8 years. The only true #2 with the qualifications was Kaine.

I think I have an idea where most Bernie supporters are at emotionally because I was a Hillary supporter in 2008. At this pont, I was less pragmatic than you are, Steel although I was never as off the rails as dyresand. I really didn't want to vote for Obama but my logical brain managed to override my emotional one. Sticking it to Obama would be sticking it to myself. I pulled the lever for him and I think most Bernie supporters will do the same for Hillary.

I hope so. Maybe it's just a lagging lack of perspective, or just a lot of first time voters feeling like they got fucked when they really didn't.

Even if you buy into all the election rigging, DNC collusion, and general hatred for Hillary, she won by millions of votes. It wasn't as close as BernieBros think it was. He didn't win, as much as I hate it.

I want to see what the next few weeks looks like. By no means scientific--- but I have seen a marked shift in my facebook feed in the last week. A lot of these hardline Republicans are starting to convince themselves that Trump is not that bad. I am seeing people who were posting memes about how dangerous Trump was just weeks ago---now they are posting articles from Breitbart talking about how he just might be the change we need.

The closer we get, I am concerned that there are less of these BernieBros who will see how terrible Trump is and vote for Hillary even though they said they wouldn't than there are of the hardline GOPers who will see Hillary as an extension of Obama and vote for anything else.

Yeah, the Republicans are in the same boat. A bunch of them are experiencing the same emotional turmoil. Most of them will swallow the bile and vote for Trump in the end. It's a question of which voters are more willing to hold their nose and vote for the person they loath for the good of their principles. It's not an even contest though. Blue states overpower the red states. It's Hillary's race to lose and she knows it. All she needs to do is NOT fuck-up. Kaine as a VP is NOT fucking up. He's qualified, he's clean, he's likable and liked - even by Republicans. He's safe which is what a controversial candidate needs.
