Looking back through this thread -- I was on my phone earlier -- I see now that you didn't make a direct comparison. I was wrong for saying you did and apologize for that.

Having said that, no one can intimdate me from exercising my franchise without my co-operation, but if this or that law were to mandate requirements I couldn't meet, that's a different kettle of fish. I'm not worried about the Republicans trying to disenfranchise me -- I'm their target demographic, middle-aged white guy -- but that doesn't mean I'm not concerned about them trying to disenfranchise other Americans who aren't like me. I am, and their efforts deserve notice and criticism far more than some two-bit organization with an ax to grind.

If you are concerned about them trying to disenfranchise other Americans who are not like you, then you are not part of their target demographic.

I get what you're saying, but I was speaking in terms of their assumptions. No doubt they deploy their divisive rhetoric in order to sway independent white males like myself towards voting for their candidates.

They know their base. They also know they have to expand it.
