Apparitions from heaven???

Yet the real fun fact is them happening mostly at the ass end of the world where people already are predisposed to believe in every kind of whoo. Yeah, I know, god is supposed to be working in mysterious ways, but if he's pulling a show in 1917 of all years. Why in rural Portugal? Why not in the trenches where millions of soldiers could have bowed their heads and ended the war immediately.

Thank you, but I rather go with a shrewd priest or local council who saw a splendid opportunity to move their community forward. I'm also more inclined towards believing that the kids were instrumentalised after the fact to bear witness before the press and the public at large.

I've already stated my reasons for why I think it's convincing and that is not because of one detail or the other in isolation, but because of the compilation of the whole thing put together in context.

A true skeptic is never going to believe. They are always going to claim mass hallucination or whatever else no matter WHAT happens, and that's fine. I'm not trying to argue here.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that I think Fatima is the only miracle. I definitely don't think that. I feel pretty confident about any miracle approved by the church. Even though I find Fatima to be particularly convincing, it is in no way the only one I believe in.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I guess my question is why Mary never appears to Protestants. Or atheists, Muslims, Hindus, Shintoists, Ba'hai's, Scientologists, or Satanists. It's always devout Catholics who report that she appeared to them and talked to them.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

You've looked into each of the miracle claims to which the church gave its stamp of approval?

No, but I know they don't take this stuff lightly. Miracles are investigated pretty thoroughly and are hard to get approved by the Church, and so I feel pretty confident about the ones that have been.

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
