( a ) I was born in Mexico,
( b ) In my extensive experience all over that Country, I never perceived bestiality to be ignored, let alone tolerated or encouraged.
( c ) The odds are that there are at least as many bestiality enthusiasts in the U.S. as there are in Mexico (remember, Mexico has about a third of the population of the U.S., and it is also a more socially conservative Country), and
( d ) It shocked me, because I had assumed that participants in an Atheist forum would be among the least likely to harbor these kinds of xenophobic attitudes. How would you feel if somebody in this forum made a joke about "how greedy Jews are", or "how lazy are the Blacks" ? Are those also permissible "jokes"?

Perhaps I shouldn't have lashed out quite that hard, but surely you can see my point.

You shouldn't take offense to anything said on this forum matey. I used to get miffed when I started out, but at the end of the day people can say whatever they like on here. Sure you can respond if you disagree, but don't take it personally.

We aren't actually xenophobic. But I'd think a joke about the greedy jews is funny, and lazy blacks the same.

These are infact permissible jokes. You don't find them funny... that's fine. My grandmother doesn't find Dilbert funny. This is a matter of taste, nothing more.

I've cracked almost every offensive joke under the sun. Yet I've been among the first people to rally for the rights of the minorities, individual rights.

Also, the "in Mexico" crack is excellent -- it is an economically backward, failed state with a culture that values its little hovels and gang affiliations more than they value having a decent quality of life.

Listen, I get it. But it wasn't a generalization at all about Mexico or Mexican people, just a joke about the perceived notion about bestiality as entertainment there. Honestly, if someone else made stereotyping statements about Jews or blacks, my first impression would be that it was a joke. If they did it again, then I would think maybe they were racist.

I apologize if you took my poor attempt at comedy as xenophobic, but I suggest next time you see something offensive, engaging in a conversation about it to find out more about the person's true beliefs before telling them to stick something in their rectum. Personally, I think racial stereotypes are great fodder for comedy and nothing more.

I was serious. I know that after I'm dead, I'm dead. But still I don't like the idea that after I die, my body to be fucked by 10 people (neither by less, nor by more). And perhaps I'm not the only one who wouldn't like to know that such a thing would happen to his body right after he dies.
