RE: Honor between soldiers/fighters?

Oh ok, my apologies. It seemed like I misunderstood. I thought you were asking me to define what I thought you were allowed to be prideful about.
“Love is the only bow on Life’s dark cloud. It is the morning and the evening star. It shines upon the babe, and sheds its radiance on the quiet tomb. It is the mother of art, inspirer of poet, patriot and philosopher.
It is the air and light of every heart – builder of every home, kindler of every fire on every hearth. It was the first to dream of immortality. It fills the world with melody – for music is the voice of love.
Love is the magician, the enchanter, that changes worthless things to Joy, and makes royal kings and queens of common clay. It is the perfume of that wondrous flower, the heart, and without that sacred passion, that divine swoon, we are less than beasts; but with it, earth is heaven, and we are gods.” - Robert. G. Ingersoll

More a question of what you approve pride in the case of, morbid curiosity, lol...not relevant at all to soldiering, or me.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Such as... Such as some folks thinking they automatically deserve respect from people because they went into the military. When, honestly, a lot of guys go into the Army and such because they weren't intelligent or motivated enough to get into college. That's not to say there are not bright minds in the military, of course there are. But simply being a soldier doesn't earn anyone extra brownie points.

You know all you have to do to go to school is keep paying the bill, right...in fact, that's -why- alot of people serve.
We "non-motivated", "unintelligent" types used to laugh at them, because, ofc, there are easier ways to get college money. You'd think college/college bound kids would know that.

Everything depends on how strong you believe in what you are fighting for. If you are 100% certain you are doing the right thing, it is unlikely you will feel remorse. You may even enjoy it.
The Samurais for example. Maybe Spartans.
Nowdays I would say terrorists. Brainwash someone enough to the point they believe killing innocent people is okay.
You mean, like Brits in South Africa and USians in Vietnam?

"Kill-crazy Vietnam vet" is my favorite. Nobody's used it here yet, but I can hear it.
