It's like the testimony of the captain and watch officers of the SS Californian, at the US senate and UK Board of Trade inquiries into the Titanic accident. The bridge officers swore that they were in constant communication with Captain Lord in the chart room, who kept asking for updates; all the while Lord insisted he was fast asleep the entire time. Clearly there's some kind of context that makes it all perfectly logical.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
