Silly Creationist

RE: Silly Creationist
Quote:You are not arguing against the current Creation model, so this is really just a straw man. It’s kind of like the old, “if evolution were true, then why are there still apes?” argument. The deepest oceanic trenches and highest mountains are all a result of catastrophic plate tectonics during the flood period. So the water did not have to be above Mt. Everest at all. In fact, if you raise the oceanic trenches and lower the highest mountain ranges there is more than enough water to cover the earth. The raising of these mountain ranges would then cause the waters to recede back to the Ocean.

The current Creation model based on what exactly? A 3000 year old story? Excuse me if I prefer the science based explanations of nature.

Quote:I think that is a bit harsh. I have not insulted your or demeaned your ability to think throughout our discussions, so why do that to me? We may have different views on these matters but we can still have a civil discussion can’t we?

You're on an atheist forum, asserting creationism, occasionally there'll be a joke at your expense. Get over it. You're well able to think, and well at that, I'm just a bit bemused you don't subject christianity to this critical thought and simply take it on faith. It's not really fitting for someone of your intellect.

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn't understand the assignment. I told them they didn't understand life.

RE: Silly Creationist
Creationists have it arse backwards, looking for evidence to support their theory, when they should be looking for a theory based on the evidence.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

And yes, I agree with what your hat says.

Because he doesn't understand/maybe a little scared. As you are a fellow Brit (cough jock cough), direct him to my thread that has Charles Darwin and The tree of life. Or send him to BBC iPlayer site and watch it.

If he still doesn't believe FACTS, tell him he's a cretin and then cut contact. Natural selection of friends. Friend is a retard..... place said friend in the bin. Find new friend. Evolution of friendships. Smile

You see this just bugs me when this happens. People will bash on Creation, but then they don't even take the time to learn the current Creation theories. If I spent all my time bashing on ideas that Darwin put forth in his work you would no doubt tell me, "Well that's not the most current evolutionary model." So that's all I am telling you now, there is a current creation model that encompasses catastrophic plate tectonics. So if you are going to try and refute creation, at least try and refute what creationists believe. Smile

I have completely rational reasons for being a Christian. I just figured civil dialogue was possible, even on an atheist forum. Smile

LOL. The "current" creationist theory has the earth at what, somewhere between 10,000 and 62,000,000 years old. It's off by at least 500% and is pure silliness.
