What makes your faith true?

That usually costs a bit more than a single coin around here.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

1 Peter 3:15?

Only for those who are sincerely interested. I have no obligation to help people be a douche to me.

But whether people are interested or not is not your call to make. Why not ignore the douches and approach the subject honestly? Not to mention that the verse says you should always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks - not "except for douches".

Set up to what? I truly want to understand this phenomenon, what are you scared of? How exactly did I mock anyone in this topic? I'm trying to be respectful and get some answers. How did I insult you?

I did ask you what I did, but that truly is not uncommon. God does that a lot in the Bible - so are you pretending those parts do not exist in the Bible? Not just Bible we hear from Christian pastors that (gay) people should be killed, so I just wandered what would happen if God asked you to for instance kill people with red hair because I'm really am trying to figure out where you’re coming from. Do you carry out the will of God?

Many of their criticisms are valid of course, just not the solution that they offer.

My apologies, I didn't actually answer your question Smile

The reason I believe in my faith is that I asked God in prayer if it was true, and He answered me.  This experience is evidence to me that Mormonism is true.  Of course, my evidence isn't something I can share with anybody else, but I definitely advocate the method.  Try it and find out!  Be advised though that an answer is only likely to come if you're ready to follow it.

Best!

Justin

Same question as the one I posed GC: What evidence do you have that your schizophrenia is correct?

Why should we listen to someone unwilling to give evidence for something he asserts is true?

I try to carryout His will but I'm not always successful which is one of many reasons I need His forgiveness.
I did not say you had mocked me in this thread but, you have in others and so I see the perfect setup in the question. Actually I've answered this in another thread sometime back of this, you wouldn't like my answer anyway and most of the atheist here who do mock the Christians do so because they do not like hearing the truth. It's not my fault that the unbelievers here have made the Christians wary of answering certain questions, that should have been thought of before you all tried to make play things of the Christians. When you make people cautious because you don't respect them this is the kind of response you should expect. Sorry but I really do not know what else to tell you. I've been setup before and probably will be again and so I try and be aware.

The response you are speaking of is why do we have faith in the living Christ as Neo-Scholastic said we do not have to answer the crazy questions, especially the ones we know any intelligent person knows isn't a reality with God. There are such times that you all need to go to the scriptures and take a serious look, honestly there's nothing there that will harm you.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Well I'm going to try to be a perfect gentleman in this topic, so even other religious people can feel relaxed and participate.

Interesting. Thanks for running with me on that. Okay, does it bother you that you'd do that? I mean does it disturb you that you'd be the kind of person that would do something you know is wrong just because God told you to do so?

RE: What makes your faith true?
The Bible gives clear criteria for demonstrating that your faith is true. Simply walk outside and tell the nearest tree to uproot itself and to jump into the nearest body of water. If it does as you have commanded it to do then your faith is true. Otherwise it's not.

No; just bore the piss out of me. I have no interest in fables, nor do I worship them. Point to something in reality that unambiguously demonstrates the validity of theist claims and convince me. I'm open to persuasion, for the right reasons. What I'm not is unquestionably gullible.

My faith, true? A level and plum bob. I can't afford those laser thingies.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
