Hovering is a simple thing to accomplish.
Accelerating is simple enough, too.
Make it a remotely operated craft and no human needs to be injured by those stunts.

That you ascribe an extra-terrestrial origin to something that is, if true, a terrestrial craft is telling of your mindset.
Why do you say it's not from this planet?
Did you run a spectrographic analysis of the outer hull to determine that it's using an alloy or some elements that are not used on this planet? or that are just not present on Earth in enough amount to build such a craft?
Are there any military facilities within the vicinity of that sighting? (it's possible the craft had a long long range for remote operation)

Did it have any markings? any writing? Anything in some totally unknown characters? unknown even to fiction!!

If the craft was not that far from you, did you hear it? If it accelerated that much, reaching past the sound speed, you'd certainly hear the sonic boom. Did you hear anything?

Was the weather cloudy?

Are you aware of the existence of 3D laser holography? For that application, 2D holography was probably enough...

Bottom line is: there are many possible explanations for what you saw... or think you saw... or made up.
Until you exclude all human origins, you should refrain from attributing an extra-terrestrial origin to it.

It looks to me like a civilian Class 48 Terullian starhopper, except for the placement of the gravity baffles which seem to come from the Class 37J corvette model. Which is particularly interesting, because the 37J has a much sharper ascent profile even at lower registers and the karmic resonance would have vaporised your eardrums anyway. Besides, that model's been out of general service since the first Draconian war and the collapse of the Arcturian Bank. Was there by any chance an infra-pink lizard emblem on the neutrino cowling, which could indicate a Lazlar Lyricon custom job?

Failing that, I couldn't really tell you what it was. I can make a pretty good guess as to what it wasn't, though.

No, you couldn't see the Forrellian drive tubes, they'd be obvious on any of those models and the upper flange casing would have been visible on starhopper. I think its a stargosey transporter.
