Seriously, here's my deal.

Seriously, here's my deal.
I have serious social anxiety problems.

I have tried dealing with it, but others just keep telling me to get over myself and deal with people I encounter.

It is never as easy as just getting over one's self.

I have had numerous jobs in my thirty seven years on this planet, and every job turns out the same. I end up informing the customers of precisely what they need to hear rather than what they want to hear.

I do retail because it is easy and I have no qualifications in anything else.

I am always unemployed while my very understanding boyfriend takes care of me, but times eventually become tough and I try again and again and always tell those idiots what's on my mind.

Sometimes I feel as though I need to speak to someone professionally about this, but it is not as though professional help is free. And I cannot afford to pay for professional help.

Then other times I realize that I am perfectly fine as I am and that it is the rest of the world that needs to wake up.

I know that I need to speak to someone with qualifications, but I cannot pay that individual anything. I have searched the internet, but I cannot find anything.

What would be your opinion as to what I should do?

RE: Seriously, here's my deal.
I feel for you, man.
I'm no expert but I feel like I've been down a similar road.
I've always been a perfectionist with my work which has often lead to disagreements with management, ending with myself storming out, breaking things or threatening to hurt people.
Once I had a kid I knew it couldn't keep going like that.
So I found my triggers and I steered clear of them and certain bad influences.
I even changed careers.

It sounds to me like your triggers are your customers.
You need to find a new line of work, I think.
If you need training perhaps you could convince your boyfriend to pay for it.
He could think of it as an investment and if it works for you he would save money in the long run.

I tried for many years to change who I was but I could only change my environment.
Funny thing is, once my environment changed, I started to as well.
I got a ways to go yet. Anyway, good luck. :-)

Take a look at Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy if your problem really is SA.

Who diagnosed you with that? If you tell customers what you think, this trait is not of someone with SA traditionally, for all I know. SA manifests itself mostly by suffering in advance before social interactions and then avoidance of them, but I might be wrong since I am not qualified to do that, nor over the internet anyone can make a determination of that.

If you were here, there are NHS programs to get you consult with a state sponsored psychologists, etc. Dunno much about the US.

Do you take your job and customers seriously? If not, perhaps your attitude towards them is a reaction to pettiness. Maybe pursuing a worthwhile career would help.

Haha you fool. I am the singlemost sanest person in the world. A doctor gave me a paper saying that.

Next job, suicide hotline. Maybe lamaze trainer.

Reply to this: We in atheist forums avoid being a help desk in dealing with life and subjective expectancies. Its a fucking forum and its not, nor could ever be a venue to solve personal problems.

Great. (meant for the OP, not you, you over sensitive girly man)

I think a "fucking" forum could solve a lot of peoples problems. I'd need to learn more about cyber sex.

Can you explain why I always have my thumb up my butt?

RE: Seriously, here's my deal.
I have to tell you this kit, and you will hate me for it, but the problem resides in you being an asshole and unpeoffessional. The customer is always right and if you do that, you will get to the point you will be able to tell your subordinates what is that. Be fucking professional, deliver fries perfect, or whatever you do. I once had the job of cleaning shit off a milk cow range at 15, I knew that if you are going to get anywhere, it is for yor own wil.

If you like the futile life, it is your problem. Me? Any labor I engage in, I am stellar at it.

All you have is the whiny bitching about having to work for a living. Well, its the sad reality. You have to. And in Rome, be... Roman?
