How has Trump impacted your life personally

He has given me an even lower opinion for the American voter than I previously had.

And I literally lost ten trillion dollars in investments when the stock market went into free-fall

To be fair, if everyone who COULD vote DID vote, I think that the result would have been vastly different. "Shoulda coulda woulda" is biting us in the ass, now. That portion of our population who should have stayed under their rocks with the rest of the slime are enjoying their time out in the sun. My stocks are back up, but it's time that I work with my money guy to get to a more conservative portfolio soon, or I won't be able to buy more bubble gum. Sad

Progressive in the original use of the term by its European developer, which Woodrow Wilson adapted to his agenda for the US.  Control, control, control of human activity and thought via an ever-growing central government...all for the betterment of the masses too ignorant to know what is best for them. Eugenics was a big part of that plan.

That is what Clinton said she considered herself; an early 20th Century Progressive.  Obama was reared in that mindset (Communism by now...but done correct this time by the right leaders) and was to produce that utopia at long last, but he found as each President has found that Congress impedes that desire in various ways, as does SCOTUS and The People...and that is how it was designed.  Obama's supporters were disappointed and had great hopes that Clinton would at last be elected to finish the job.  They were thwarted by ...dear gawd...a game-show host who inherited his millions.

Progressives come in all party affiliation and is seems that the longer public office is held, the more progressive one becomes...unless one has a very firm grasp upon ones integrity.

Have you benefited or suffered financially, mentally, or physically? Any personal stories to share, such as people you know being deported, losing health insurance, making money in the stock market. Not really asking for how you perceive things to be happening, but what has happened to you personally. I realize most people here are against him, but how has it actually affected you whether it's increased your stress level or whatever.

Honestly just curious, and hope to not get into a pissing match. Just a place to share personal stories if you wish.

Personally for me, I've made money in my 401k with the 3 trillion dollars added to the stock market since the election, which was supposed to go down as some democrats said would happen. I've also had some strained relationships, and arguments with people that don't like that I voted for and still support Trump. I run into people that have serious trump derangement syndrome, but honestly most people are quite polite. Overall I'm enjoying it, but wish people would come together and get past the rhetoric and be able to discuss current events civilly. Not saying things are perfect, and I tend to be an asshole about things sometimes, which I'm trying to be better. Previously I didn't really care about people's feelings when discussing Trump because I viewed them as hysterical and didn't really take them seriously. However, I'm trying to do a better job of listening to people.

I don't work and make all my money through investments so according to you, I should be thanking Trump.
So let me ask you this. Did you thank Obama for the performance of the stock market?

In his 8 years, the equities market averaged around 12% annual returns and that's not counting dividends. So, did you thank Obama for that?
I don't want to hear any excuses either for why the market performance under Obama doesn't count.
If god was real he wouldn't need middle men to explain his wants or do his bidding.

I listen to a podcast that constantly talks about the benefits of free market capitalism.

The podcast I listen to in particular makes a lot of good arguments for free market capitalism.  There are two areas off the top of my head that I think need regulating though, pollution and food production.

I don't mean government regulated food production in a communist way, I mean regulating things like what additives are used in foods and farm yard practise.

What it might boil down to is the ethics of the people who are in control, whether they're rich private bussiness owners, or the people in government making the regulations.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

He he he haw! Obama was a Communist! Good One! wait, are you serious? Is it because he pushed for a healthcare bill that's nearly the same as Romney's was for his state? Or maybe when he cut small business taxes twelve times in his first term? Or maybe when he made most of the Bush tax cuts permanent?

As far as government control in some things like Health Care, it's better to have government control. You think the alternative is for you to have control? No, the greedy insurance companies will have control. The less healthcare they give you, the richer they get. There is no industrialized country that uses a free market healthcare system with success. But an expensive, ineffectual healthcare system is preferable to anyone getting anything without paying for it, for some people.

You might at best be a Libertarian socially, but please do not call yourself a liberal economically.

Obama did not want Communism, that is a lie. I don't want communism either.

Saying that our pay gap is killing us, saying that Reagan's age of deregulation is killing us, IS NOT a call to any form of Communism.

FYI China is a Communist country AND allows western business and LAST YEAR in a press conference their PM used the same economic right wing bullshit talking points "now is not the time to tax the rich".

We already have corporate socialism, big corporations socialize the profits when they win and socialize the losses on the tax payers when they lose.

Being anti monopoly is not a call for a one party fascist state. Saying that pay is not meeting the cost of living is also NOT a call for a fascist state.

Your centralized GOV are the product of 36 years of the GOP protecting corporate greed. If you support that then you are a economic conservative, not a progressive.

Uh-huh. Brian, you just remain uninformed. It most likely won't make any difference.

Orochi, you take my information and automatically label it a conspiracy theory likened to those surrounding our September 11th terrorist attack. How does that work in your mind? Maybe I don't want to know...

Industrial Lad, can you read books? Try some of Obama's. Then...you tell me if you think he has Communist leanings? And...Brian, you should read some books, too.

The only people selling conspiracies are on the right.

How about you do your own homework and research the balance of power between the two parties since Reagan and the average control over all three branches in that 36 years.

"Uninformed", yea so uniformed I imagined Bush Jr's crash. That was merely my imagination.

Do me a favor don't call yourself a progressive.
