There's a certain irony to you dismissively recommending others to get an education even as you yourself practice an all-too-common, and all-too-wrong, conflation.

Obama a communist ... laughably wrong.

Ok, so are we agreeing that Obama isn't a Communist?

What does that have to do with even Socialism?

I already told you we ALREADY have socialism, corporate socialism, they socialize the profits between the ceos an share holders when they win, and socialize the losses on the tax payers when they lose.

NFL is a perfect example, The Saints should have gone out of business back in the 70s and 80s but because of corporate laws, the NFL between owners propped them up, and took it out on fans, and blackmailed cities to keep them a afloat.

Even locally where I live, I have a mostly empty shopping center across the street from me, 12 units, only 4 full, and one major chain gas station in the parking lot. Some bank owns it I am sure because of the builder defaulting, but it has been mostly empty most of the 10 years I have lived here. Someone is ultimately paying for those units to stay empty.

You seem to fail to realize what the rich don't pay the rest of us pay for long term to pay for their tax deductions and losses. That lack of the top paying adds to the national debt long term.

Brian, maybe you should respond to the point rather than going off on a tirade.

I don't need your browbeating to understand basic facts about our economy which I learned decades ago. Thanks.

But, it has made me ashamed for a sizeable chunk of my fellow Americans.

With recent Presidential elections, around half of the voting citizenry feels ashamed for the other half.  It was so for me when my fellow citizens went ga-ga over Obama and then were oblivious enough to support Clinton.

Actually....it has probably been that way for a couple of centuries or more...

Hey, at least the other 60% of the country has the fact that they are not willing to vote for traitors to balance out the shame of your opprobrium.

You've got to be kidding me. They don't even have to decency to hide pay-to-play. How many of our governors were sent to jail? Blogo was literally selling Senate seats. True story - during the primaries, my polling place couldn't even find a Republican ballot for 20 minutes and it took two people to find it (I think there was a stack of 5, maybe).

Maybe. At the same time, the Hispanic families have a waiting line to get into UNO Charter schools. They must be doing something right.

Okay, you got me! Maybe we can share a few tokes on Montrose Ave. Beach.

Correction, China isn't communist, has never been communist, and in fact despite many claims otherwise there never has been a truly communist country ever. The closest humanity has come to communism was probably during the period in the mesolithic before agriculture and specialised economies were invented.

I think the analogy is apt.

Mother Teresa was a despicable human being, though still not as bad as Donald Trump.

Orochi, you take my information and automatically label it a conspiracy theory likened to those surrounding our September 11th terrorist attack. How does that work in your mind? Maybe I don't want to know...

Industrial Lad, can you read books? Try some of Obama's. Then...you tell me if you think he has Communist leanings? And...Brian, you should read some books, too.
You might want to go to dictionary.com and look up the definition for communism before telling me to read books.

From my computer's dictionary:

<< political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs. See also Marxism >>

Naive people always believe that Communism has failed because the "right" leaders were not in place, but this time they will succeed because they are so much better and smarter and they will lay down the path to Communism in a benign and progressive manner, so that the masses will follow willingly and there will not need to be a bloody revolution, although there may need to be some chaos and despair, so that the masses will plead for the dear leaders to take control and make it all better.

Ever read the "plan" for Communism to take over the US, which was read into the Congressional Record last century? You could go down the list and check off one by one what has been already accomplished.

Clinton studied Marxism as a means to power and a way to control people under government. Obama was reared in it. By his own admission, he choose to associate with people who advocated Marxism.

Communism always fails to bring a healthy civilization to its people and they always end up dying one way or another due to the government's failure. Examine the first settlers to the New World and their experiment in Communism and take it from there.

It sounds like it could work, should work...but human nature is what keeps it from working. Our Founders knew that and so they framed our Constitution to try to avoid the worst of human nature from corrupting the USA...knowing all the while, that human nature most likely would anyway. That is why they declared that in order for this grand experiment to work, the populace must be politically active, informed and moral.
