True, but with some locations, like the white house, a direct hit is the only guarantee.

My high school back in New York, which was built in the 1950s, had a bomb shelter. Probably wouldn't have helped much in an actual nuclear war, though. I graduated from high school in '89 so a nuclear war between the US and the USSR wasn't exactly a quaint notion yet while I was there.

I heard the school re-purposed it in the 90s - maybe they need to dust it off and bring it back to it's original purpose.

Just in the paper today is an article about possibly spending $85,000,000,000 on replacing the US Minuteman missiles since they are so archaic and rickety not replacing them (while keeping them on alert) is actually more expensive than replacing them.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Everyone bear in mind that we are just evolved apes.
We will always sling shit at each other. It's in our DNA.
With technology, the nuclear shit hurts a little more, that's all.
No God, No fear.

Yeah, incineration just hurt a little more than a flesh wound, that's all.

I'd like to think that the officer carrying the "football" will use their sidearm (if carried, I dunno) to good effect, if the loofa-faced shitgoblin orders a nuclear strike.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
