An argument against Adam and Eve

RE: An argument against Adam and Eve
Why did God want them to not know the difference?

And how does knowing you're naked come under knowing about good and evil?

Not the difference: knowledge OF good and evil. He wanted them to remain innocent and be with him.

There is nothing wrong with being naked, but consequently they are ashamed. They were happy and confident before, but now they're filled with fear which disables them.

Interestingly enough the serpent/Satan in that myth was god.

The underlying message behind the Adam and Eve myth is, a supreme being prefers to rule over ignorant creatures. If they can think like him and be like him and had they eaten of that other forbidden tree, after eating of the tree of knowledge, they'd have also been eternal like him.

Also, Christians that accept the poorly written fiction, that is a different human creation epic from that written in Genesis Chapter 1 as opposed to Chapter 2, do so because they feel it's all true. From a deep innermost sense of self, they accept what they're led to believe in that fable and what it says about their pathetic condition as people.
That humans should be ashamed of being human. That they should reign in the powerful creative energies they possess and not love themselves because being human is bad. While if they accept the god that created them that way loves them if they supplicate themselves and beg to be forgiven for being human, they'll be rewarded by being better people once they're dead.
Which is how god likes 'em. As we can read throughout the entire old testament. God createth and god murders. Because he's having a bad hair day and thought genocide was better than a comb over.

and THE burning question: Did Adam and Eve have navels? If so,why?

While you're at it,I'd also like to know:

What happened to the penis of Osiris?

What was the composition of Thor's hammer?

What happened to the flying vimanas mentioned in the Rig Veda?

I'm also a bit curious about the actual mechanics of Leda being raped a swan. (don't they have a corkscrew dick, like a duck?)

I won't ask what happened to Noah's Ark, I already worked that out: After the flood waters had subsided,Noah sent one of his boys to clean out the bilges in the ark. They needed all that wonderful elephant manure and guano for the depleted soil. Dark down there,so the boy lit a lamp and discovered methane. That's what I reckon.

Yet they didn't become like him. Fail.

"God did say unto the woman "thou shalt not eat of the fruit of that tree".... And the woman spake unto God "Which tree?". God did reply "Surely it is obvious unto you? The tree with the fruit that looketh the most mighty and delicious". And the woman saw.

She spoketh again unto the Almighty, "why not?". The Almighty rolled his eyes to heaven, and did sigh. "Thou art not permitted, fucking deal with it".

The woman, because she was womankind, could not resisteth Temptation, and did not desist. Henceforth Mankind is evermore fucked.

Proof God is not good.

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn't understand the assignment. I told them they didn't understand life.

(July 30, 2011 at 7:23 pm)fr0d0 Wrote: Well if you read your source, you would find the words: "knowledge of good and evil".

Quote:15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
So God had given Adam knowledge enough to work and take care of the garden.

Preceeding that:
Quote: 26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
...we have God creating mankind in his own image, with knowledge enough to rule.

Your premise seems not to address the information you're commmenting on. "NO KNOWLEDGE AT ALL" is a fabrication of your own invention.

So......,Enough knowledge to be a slave. That doesn't exactly equal knowledge to know the difference between listening to god or listening to satan.

And off you go again into your land of invention.

Don't worry about that by the way... it's quite common amongst atheists. People often are what they accuse others of being.. in this case delusional.

My point is, they had no knowledge of the difference between right and wrong. God punished them for doing something that they did not know was wrong until they did it. Thats not entirely fair.
