I feel like...all I can do is cope with life now. I don't see what there is to look forward to, or to take reassurance in. Everything just seems empty.

(Why yes, I'm on meds and seeing a counselor. Doesn't help much.)

Have you considered Pastafarianism? Our afterlife reward is an endless buffet, mansions for everyone, strippers, a beer volcano and the best tv reception ever.

It's also more likely to be true because those things are all real.

Hi mate

Just to give my 2 cents worth of advice..what I've realised over my life, is that the meaning of life is not a question that you pose to life, but it's a question that life poses to you.

So figure out what you want to achieve in your life and what legacies you want to leave behind and work towards those goals. Remember, life is what you make of it so in the time you have left, make sure that what you do has a positive impact on others and it's only by making others happy (don't forget yourself too) and strengthening your relationships with those that are close to you, will you enrich your life.

Go forth and be happy my friend.

That's....actually not a bad philosophy. Welcome. You are new, but then so am I. We are all learning together.

Life is a journey into an unknown land . There are no maps . And people who claim to have them are doomed to dead ends .

Or possibly hastily scribbled notes.

Perhaps. Or perhaps sometimes we can make our own maps and it helps us as long as it conforms to reality.

Sounds like a better afterlife plan than Frisbeetarianism. We believe that, upon death, the soul flies up to the roof and gets stuck there.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

"... the undiscovered country from whose bourn no traveller returns..."

No wait, that's death. I always get those two mixed up.

Yeah perhaps ...
perhaps we can keep update our own maps .... and keep this update current as and when changes occur.
So life is a journey into an unknown land and everyone has their own map to this land ... why, because we still alive ... more or less ..well or worse.
So it means our maps are better or worse ....with the outlines of the main routes only or detailed with all the paths and valleys of our lives...
Don't lose your map or don't let... steal it, otherwise it will be a complete mess Wink

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery each day."

All the roads on my map are dead ends.
