I find that random executions of possible offenders works a treat for stopping such infractions.
I learned the hard way, however, that you have to tell everyone why that person had to die.

Hate to say it, but unless you know your state laws on secretly recording people, or unless the building itself has security cameras, I'd say make and drink your coffee before you leave for work. Outside that suggest a larger community coffee pot and place a cost mug so that everyone is contributing to buying it. I wouldn't suggest revenge for something so petty. It’s not petty. I’m not making anybody coffee for kicks. My time is limited in the first hour of the day. Can’t wait around because people don’t have manners.
Well again, I'd either make it at home, or inform the bosses, but I would not take matters into your own hands.
I'd say your first and best option is to inform, and try to get the management to BUY a coffee maker and get people to contributed to buying the coffee, anyone caught with a mug who hasn't paid would be the best way to stop it. I wouldn't spike anything if you were considering that because you don't know anyone's allergies or medical conditions. And again, outside that it can be completely avoided by making your coffee and drinking it BEFORE you go to work, or go out and buy it on your break.

Why can't you just carve a message on the corpse? No need to say a thing then.

That person is the one that shouldn’t take my coffee.
I won’t retaliate in a risky manner, but I will have fun with it, if it continues after the sign I put up. I like having my coffee at work. I shouldn’t have to change that.

Ah, the old shit-against-a-wall approach.
I knew there was something about you I like.
Me? I prefer to make an example of someone for an unrelated but equally niggling reason:
[Beats offender with baseball bat while shrieking]: I fucking told you! Those are my paperclips, bitch! Mine!
Then, as the onlookers stare aghast at the still quivering body, raise the bloody bat and scream, "Now where's the motherfucker who keeps drinking my coffee?!?"

I should actually try that.
I wonder how long it will be before someone catches on and says, "But Beccs, you don't drink coffee!"

You're saying, booby- trap the body?
Why didn't I think of that?

You want to drink coffee without having to worry about someone taking yours. I get that. Just don't do anything that would risk their health or your job or get you sued or arrested. Their petty crap is not worth you getting yourself in trouble.

There is no fucking way I'm going to eat those things as I've already had a Ghost Pepper before and THAT was hot enough. I've been wondering what to do with them . . . maybe it's a sign.
I used to grow Carolina Reapers. And before that Trinidad Scorpion Butch T which used to be the world's hottest. I made sauce from it. If I had some I'd bland them in vinegar and mix them in with some other chilli sauce.
Does vinegar reduce the hotness of it? Because I know how hot ghost peppers are, and I think if I had more than one of them I may have legit died, and one of these may be hotter than two of them together . . . so if they are going to be edible it's either going to be some dare for charity or with a friend, and not to genuinely enjoy, or I'm gonna need a way to decrease the hottness of them.
How long do they last for by the way? They've been in this enclosed clingfilm type stuff, tightly air packed, inside my fridge, for a few weeks now. Even if they've gone bad I'm not going to throw them though, unless they actually rot, because I like collecting them at the very least.
