Well done you've completely missed my point. People as a rule don't become atheist because they are "exposed to atheist ideas", and universities are not chock a block with atheism. Most people become atheist because a) they're brought up that way or b) they've examined religion(s) and found something lacking and have thus discarded them.
What a good third level education will do (and if you're lucky a good second level education too) is give you the tools to look at a problem, critically analyse it and come up with a solution. That's not atheism, that's reasoning.
I just enjoy the irony that those who chide atheists for not having an open mind are often the same people who dismiss universities out of hand because some courses/professors teach things that don’t fit into the white, cis-gendered, Judeo-Christian world view.
I also chuckle at the idea that colleges and universities brainwash children. If living according to a certain set of behaviors and beliefs during a person’s most formative and vulnerable initial 18 or so years of life can be wiped away because that kid took a few classes, then I dare say the ideas they came in with sucked.

Starhunter seems to have all kinds of reasons for why we don't believe. So, SH, can you tell me why I walked away at the age of 13?
Wasn't Uni. What else ya got? Demons?

Yeah, I never really believed. I wanted to believe, especially as a kid, in order to fit in. But I never did.

The five lonely forum atheists and their sock puppets, hoping a Christian may be here to listen.
The need to dump and transfer is so strong isn't it?
But if no one cares, then they can God bash, yes, bashing someone they 'know' doesn't exist and cannot hear.
Foaming at the mouth, at something that doesn't exist - is the definition of insanity.

Don't look now but I think someone is feeling persecuted. And not liking the other foot.

No, that would be talking to a figment of your imagination and thinking it really exists.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Hey, don't knock these forums. Last time I checked, many Christian forums either don't allow atheists to join or prohibit them from speaking in the "main" areas. Even though an atheist would be seriously outnumbered in one of these forums, there is the perpetual risk of "OMG! OMG! He's saying something that nobody can refute!" So, Christians make sure they are insulated from those who may challenge their views. IMO, this is cowardice.
But in these forums, a Christian is free to speak his/her mind in any section of the forum. It's almost as if nobody here is afraid of hearing a theistic point of view. If we are "God bashing" at least we invite you to speak up for your imaginary friend. But what if the mods DID make theists remain in a small section of our forum? What would you think of these forums then?

If large groups of people tried to legislate laws inspired by some thing that YOU didn't think existed, you'd be frothing at the mouth, too.

Yes, in many courses of study in academia, one is exposed to atheistic ideas. So what? Nobody is penalized for being a theist. I think the problem is that indoctrination can be unwound by simple exposure to sensical ideas. Pity, pity.
Reminds me of my philosophy of religion professor. Many Christians in the class felt like he was pushing atheistic ideas on them. In class discussion, he challenged theistic views, as well as atheistic ones. He always kept his personal religious views to himself. I got to know him over the semesters, and it turned out... he was a Christian! Lol! The persecution complex doesn't even have to involve atheists apparently, just theists who explore different points of view.

Which of us are these five non-sockpuppets of which you speak, o wise one? I just want to know if I'm genuine. Because if not, I probably won't bother having a bath like I was going to.

Incidentally, I don't foam at the mouth about non-existent things. I simply find it all sad.
