Against religion..in positions of public authority. Not that this matters, as antitheism is not a position against religion...at all. It's a strong criticism of god beliefs. If thos god beliefs have religions attached then obviously that shit sucks too but the point of contention is deeper and doesn't require an attached, or extant, religion. We can sensibly discuss what's wrong with dead gods as well.

It's not usually religion in which one lacks belief, but gods and other theistic claims. One can be absent belief in the one and simultaneously against the other. Perhaps that's one of the sources of confusion we see around here?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Im not versed on all the different definitions... agnostic, agnostic atheist, gnostic atheist, atheist, anti theist... etc. It seems different definitions are given for each every time definitions are given. Im not sure if there is like an official source that defines all these.

Yeah, I would say so.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Atheism . I'm unconvinced of god
Agnosticism - I'm not 100% certain no god exist
Ideology in terms of religion - Religion is ultimately a failed and antiquated system . It's influences negatives outweigh its positives and any positives are replaceable by non religious system . And any historical justification for it's maintenance is moot or myth . However i do not call for it's elimination only it be contained to spheres were it's harmful elements are lessened . And believe thou not immune from criticism is nonetheless allowed.
As for Dawkins idea of indoctrinating he was referring to groups like creationist who teach children lies about science . Hitchens objection was teaching kids about hell . And Dennett was concerned about the same . Harris was concerned about a hybrid of these .

Yeah, it's called a dictionary.

Could be the same though. The first is unconvinced but not 100% sure.

I am against forms of religion that generate harm.
I work with those with Dementia and would never dream of robbing them of their faith or religion; I support them in religious and cultural practice and would never talk about atheism with them. I am happy when they are happy and wish them only the best.
My anti-theism is reserved for stupidity like creationism from the pulpit, misogyny, hypocrisy, etc;
I realise that atheists can be capable of this too. Nobody has an excuse in my book, myself obviously included.

Could be the same though. The first is unconvinced but not 100% sure. No because atheism is a question about beliefs . While Agnosticism is a question epistemology
Atheism - I don't expect the theist claim about god
Agnosticism - But i admit i'm not total certain on that position . A god might exist .
Thus i consider myself an agnostic atheist

Hence I'm an agnostic atheist, though I do occasionally border on being anti theist, but that's only when I encounter a particularly obnoxious theist (check out a Christian vs atheist debate page on FB - it's flooded with the most ignorant Nigerian theists you'll ever encounter, both Christian and Muslim).
I will admit there has been a rise in anti-theism in the past couple of decades, but I don't think the so-called "new atheism" is about anti-theism. Atheists have, for years, for various reasons, been quiet in their opinions, but now communities are forming all over the world and people are speaking up, usually against religious privilege in various countries (I've had arguments here and in Oz with parents who want mandatory teaching of THEIR religion in schools).
Part of the trouble, especially in the US, that I've seen anyway, is that ANY mention of atheism is seen as a personal attack on the beliefs of some Christians. Look at the "controversy" around atheist billboards. A group puts up a billboard (if they can get the company to do it, of course, since many claim that the message is controversial) that states, "Don't believe in God? You're not alone." And immediately there's an outcry from some who scream that it's a direct attack against them and their beliefs. But the same person has NO trouble with a billboard that tells people they'll be tortured in fire for all eternity if they don't hold a particular belief (or a particular variation of that belief).
And these same billboards are frequently vandalised. Someone had a Darwin fish (like the Jesus fish, but with legs) on their car and when they returned from shopping it was snapped in half and a message left on the car telling the "evil" atheist that they'd burn in hell if they didn't repent.
I saw a Jesus fish on a car here recently. I smiled and moved on with my day.
I would NEVER consider vandalising someone else's property, even if I vehemently disagreed with the message. The same can't be said for some conservatives who think their actions are justified by their beliefs.
Yes, there are angry atheists out there, and sometimes I'm one of them. And, sometimes, that anger is justified.
