'Emotional Support Peacock' Barred From United Airlines Plane

'Emotional Support Peacock' Barred From United Airlines Plane
Maybe it's because I'm an oddball but this story makes me laugh every time I've heard it.

I'm skeptical about all these alleged 'support animals' that seem to be everywhere these days. I think it's just a sneaky way to bring your pet to places where normally you can't bring pets.

And a peacock, for pete's sake? Those things are loud, I can't imagine sitting next to one of those on a flight!

Quote:United Airlines confirmed that the exotic animal was barred from the plane Saturday because it “did not meet guidelines for a number of reasons, including its weight and size.”

“We explained this to the customer on three separate occasions before they arrived at the airport,” an airline spokeswoman said in a statement Tuesday to The Washington Post.

I've heard they taste like chicken . . . .
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

I would just like to say that I'd rather have a peacock on a plane than a kid.

Ideally I would prefer neither but if I had to choose, some smelly, noisy, snot-nosed kid is going to come in second.

Yeah, I've sat next to screaming babies and that's not pleasant either. Although I feel sympathy for the parents of screaming kids.

I wouldn't feel sorry for a peacock parent whose charge is behaving badly, though. Leave the damn peacock at home lol.

This whole "emotional support" animal thing is out of hand. I don't like flying to begin with, but having an animal running around is bad news. I'm deathly allergic to cats. Do I have to take medication along, just because some twit can't fly without that cat?  I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one on the plane who was allergic. People are way too selfish, IMO.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Wait until the peacock takes to the air inside the plane, land its 10 lb ass on your head, sinks it’s talons into your scalp, and shit on your shoulders.

When it comes to flights, people should skip past the emotional support animals and use drugs to calm down, like any self respecting American. 😝

The only emotional support animals you really need on an airplane are the two close relatives of chimps  nested behind a locked door up in the front.   Try not to fly without these.

And yes, they are really there for emotional support. Autopilots, flight computers, and automated landing aids would get you where you want to go more reliably and with higher chance of all of you arriving connected into one piece.

A few years ago, I was watching an episode of What the Fuck is Wrong With You where one of the stories they covered was about a man who caused havoc in a Missouri restaurant because he brought a boa constrictor with him. He said it was a service animal that helped him with his depression.

The story is here https://www.cnn.com/2015/08/15/us/restau...index.html

The episode is called “the Bear Masquerade.” I’d link to the video here, but I’m on my iPad and it’s a bizarrely Herculean task to actually embed a video here on my iPad.

The video should easily be found on YouTube, and the relevant portion starts around 15:50.

Edit: I have since come back to my laptop, so here it is:
