Y'all come to Europe where we have tons of taxes... But public services kinda work.

Sure, some of our politicians have learned from the same place as the GOP, but the majority still needs to keep up appearances of socialism...

I used to think the same thing, but I've never seen it work in practice. What seems to actually happen is investment bubbles followed by crashes. It turns out demand more than suffices to motivate investment in businesses and ventures, without that demand they start looking around for sexy financial instruments.

-and in the meantime, all government services will see a massive shortfall.  In fact, unless the debt ceiling is raised in the next few weeks...the fed is gonna run out of money come tax refund time. I hope they don't start issuing IOU's.

BUT, lets be clear, there is still a HUGE difference between a "free market" and a "free for all market".


Selfishness IS NOT good. Preservation is. But as the GOP and Libertarians sell it yes, "Greed is good" which is not the same as preservation much less based on supply and demand.

They have huge piles of cash offshore because the corporate tax rate in America has been 35%. Now that the rate is being lowered to be in line with the rest of the world, money is coming back to the US.
