So how long was Jesus under ground? Jesus did say to the thief "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise." - so he was maybe in the ground for 5 minutes?
Why the fuck you trying to rewrite my OP?
The correct answer is zero minutes, not only in reality... but also in the myth. It was the institution of christianity that spent about 500 years in hell (and making a hell of earth) trying to combat various things it considered heretical between the 300's and 800's. The idea that the god man went to hell at all is a product of that, and not something that was ever part of the story beforehand.
This calculation of the time jesus spent in hell is equivalent, ofc..whether one uses a "jewish calendar" or the julian calendar..which would have been the calendar actually used by any of the people who wrote the story.

There was no "original" version, so we're all working with later versions. Pick one you like, I did.

In this case there is, insomuch as we know when and why people began believing the bit about jesus descending to hell. It was politics and money, as always with this sort of stuff. The torturers god turns tidier coin.

It is extra-biblical. If such sources may be introduced, one could have any amount of fun with the apocrypha.
