What gives?

The story needs a villain.  Oddly, this tale makes the villain smarter than the hero.

It's not just that, though.

The ill logics of biblical proportions that we point out don't seem to phase theists, because they are too caught up with their cognitive dissonances.

Apologetic arguments abound more than bunnies in a springtime meadow due to delusion overriding reality and reason.

A god that is supposedly OMNI can only seem to do that which a primitive human mind conceptualized.  Which does not make the god a god at all, but merely a primitive human creation.
Gods never know more than their human authors know.
God thinks it's fun to confuse primates. Larsen's God!

Surely you are not so hard headed that you haven't learned a thing from Christians. It's not God can't kill Satan, it's His love for man's free choice was much more important that He wouldn't put an end to Satan until all who will come to love God has. God is proving to His creation that loving Him is the most important thing they can do, you might find that revolting but God and those who love Him find it a awesome part of peace. Satan hates God and he has no peace and neither will those who will follow him. So nothing gives as soon as God's plan has been totally completed Satan will bite the dust, it will happen only in God's perfect timing and not when you and that little brain thinks it's appropriate.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

You're taking it out of context.

The only thing you ever manage to point out is the fact you are totally and utterly biblically ignorant. It's not us being dishonest with ourselves, we understand we are sinners and need the salvation God offers through Jesus, the dishonest ones are those who rebel against their creator.
There are reasons you see different things about God from people, we want to believe we each have things completely correct about God when we can't even begin to understand the complete God of creation and salvation He is. So to put it in a simple way so you might understand we try to fill in the blanks with our supposed knowledge of God and different interpretations come about. Most all Christians believe in how salvation comes to man and that we are to live to the best as we can a life that is a witness for Christ.
God is the creator not man and God in His omni-powers and through His grace understands man's weaknesses, it is why He wanted to give His life to save us.

"Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them to present himself before the LORD. The LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Then Satan answered the LORD and said, "From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it." Job 2:1
