Ask a guy who just had his appendix removed!

Ask a guy who just had his appendix removed!
Here's a story for you all.

So on Sunday I started having pain in my lower right abdomen, and initially thought it was trapped gas. Monday it didn't get any better but was still manageable, though moving was painful at times. Tuesday morning I decide enough is enough and head to the urgent care center. They do some tests and order a CAT scan. I have to drink a lot of contrast fluid before my CAT scan, and when I'm 2/3 the way through, suddenly all the lights in the building go out. Seems that there was a car accident that took out power for the block. My doctor sends me to a nearby hospital to I'm fast-tracked to the CT machine because I already have the contrast in me. Results come back about 10 minutes later...I have appendicitis, so we head down to the ER and they arrange for the operation.

I finally had it this afternoon, my appendix is now gone. The surgery was performed with a robot, which is cool, because I only have three small cuts on my abdomen, no external stitches (they glued me back together), and I was able to leave the hospital 4 hours after my surgery ended. I also got to eat and drink for the first time in 48 hours.

Ask me stuff!

Turkey with stuffing, a side of fries, a slice of chocolate cake, and an iced coffee. I was mighty hungry. Finished it all as well!

Any nausea after anesthesia?

Don't have any questions, but just wanted to say I also had my appendix taken out this past February when I had my robotic surgery for endometriosis. There was endo growing on my appendix, so they just removed it. I had 5 holes put through my belly and had to stay in the hospital overnight.

Take some gas ex to help relieve the gas pains from the lap surgery. Also, be careful with constipation.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Did you ask for your appendix as a trophy?

They gave me some drugs to help with the pain, I'm lying in a recliner with a heating pad right now.

For some weird reason I didn't have any of the other symptoms of appendicitis, just the pain. No nausea, no vomiting, no fever. Just the pain.

Nope, none at all. Woke up in some pain, was given pain meds and taken back to my room where I ordered my dinner, which I ate with no problems.
