"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

How is this philosophy?

If you'll have me, I'll join.
Obviously, I'm not a Christian. But I have no qualms with abiding by the rules of the thread/sub forum.

I'm down with .. well .. whatever it might turn out to be, provided that something is natural and not something wacky. The Christian members have a common language, "church-speak", and recognize a shared authority, Holy Scripture. While I value the insights and contributions of atheist members like Whateverist and theists like MK, I anticipate that Christian specific concepts like the Great Commission will figure prominently. I think of this more as a panel discussion focusing on the subtle points of agreement and disagreement between Christian AF members without the distraction of large worldview differences. That makes sense.

In those types of panels they usually have like 1 person that is an "outsider" for various reasons. Wouldn't that add to the entertainment factor? My vote is that we add Minimalist to the panel but obviously up to your christian panel who the one non christian is. Maybe also give the non christian panel member less power in the debate like 1 post every 2 days, etc (May 3, 2018 at 5:51 pm)Neo-Scholastic Wrote:(May 3, 2018 at 4:51 pm)Catholic_Lady Wrote: I'd support you joining. So for the rest of us it's basically like watching a Sitcom |
