Ease up, Joods. You're insinuating that the staff do things for their "favorites" when I know for a fact that if this were to fly, it would be because Tibs and others do value some form of structured debate, and the debate section has stricter guidelines than what she's asking for. Debate with her points all you want, but it's not fair to act like she's a staff favorite or something. You're a personal friend of several members of staff, and I assure you that none of them would just create a subforum for you if they didn't think the idea had merit.

I wasn't insinuating anything specifically about staff. A lot of members that aren't staff, follow her for their own reasons. It's just frustrating to hear a new subforum being suggested when the rules about misquoting others, flaming and trolling are so loosely enforced now. I've stated the same thing a few times now about the misquoting rule and it's gone completely ignored. Some people here just continuously get away with stuff that it's completely frustrating.

Is my frustration misplaced? Partly. How about we address the existing problems and then see if it's necessary to create another area for what's being proposed?

Did you make a report? I’ve not been trying to ignore your posts about people getting away with rule breaks. I just don’t know what specific incidents you’re referring to.

Honestly? I didn't bother because every other time I've made a report about said individual, nothing happened. We can discuss this in PM if you prefer.

Yes, it is. We can’t action on anything without a report to start with which is why we also report posts when we find rule violations. But it’s not really fair to expect us to comb every thread searching for rule violations. Not that you are expecting that but it does sometimes feel like some people expect us to do that.

No, I'm certainly not expecting that. My question was posed merely to make it clear if reports were required. But, the number of times I've reported what I honestly believe to be a clear violation of the rules, only to be told that it's not sometimes leaves me wondering what point there is in reporting it in the first place.

Lol, I think it's part of the rules that you have an obligation to report when you see a possible rule violation.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
