Yeah I knew that... but just in case there were some other people who didn't know that... it's good to put the obvious out there Big Grin

True dat!!
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

That is a fair critique.  I adopted a contrary position to a couple of the others just to prevent it from being a group hug. And for that Ive been tarred and feathered.

I proposed it as as an experimental alternative to a "civility" thread. I opposed a civility thread in part because despite all the grief I get (and give back) i firmly support the free expression of ideas, including insults. I said there is a perfectly good underutilized debate are for focused moderated discussions.

Im glad for the experiment but agree that it might not be worth repeating.  Nevertheless i do believe it has generated at lot of interesting conversations. AF was getting kind of stale. If nothing else this livened it up some.

I can see this. Do not take offense, but like I was taught early on. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions". While I disagree with much of what you say (religionwise), These days, I do not have to consider theistic arguments further.

A friend of mine has an autoimmune desease. His 18 y o sun went to fatima to kneel all the path. You know, to get gods to help it. A hail storm cane at the begginning, everyone was fleing. I was prepared with an umbrella that I used to shield him all the way Hail just bouncues off. It wasn't bigass hail ofc.

The debate over all has been very boring. Then again, Christianity is very boring. Glad to be one of the pearl ignoring swine!

Yeah. I liked that one post by A Theist and I liked CL's first two responses to Neo... other than that it's pretty much a yawnfest.

I don't mind it... Still reading it...

It's always good to see why others think the way they do.
I always try to analyse stuff from a psychological perspective. Dunno

Knowing stuff is the cure for ignorance.

Yeah, trying to understand theist psychology is all I can really hope to gain since I'm guaranteed not to see any new arguments or evidence. I find it interesting too.
