A reduction in the human population, the creature responsible for so many extinctions, would be a good start.

Anything I can do to further your aspirations just let me know. I completely agree: we are the problem.

NZ also has other introduced species such as possums, rats, stoats, weasels and the like.

My cats rarely bother birds, and have only, as far as I know, only caught a native once.  And all he did was ask for money for the bus and demand his land back!

😇

Yeah, I can get behind the misanthropic impulse. We are the problem and if cats are it is because we've made them so.

Some day, if I outlast my wife, I will have a cat. But I will keep it in doors.

The bio weapons are all going to schedule.

The cats came with their human masters, so their existence there isn't natural.
Banning them is common sense to preserve the wild life in the area if you ask me. Humans can be controlled with laws and fines though, but cats can't. So it's quite legit.

I've had eight cats in five years, not a single one has lived past two as of yet.  The birds and tree rats and snakes are doing worse, though.  Those poor bastards are lucky to make it through a single season.

Cats can be a problem, I love em, but I was raised to shoot a stray*.

I have a simple rule, one I’m very serious about: you hurt my cat and I will do the same to you, twice as hard for twice as long.

I'd prefer cats to birds, insects and reptiles but maybe that's just me.

They’re pushing for this all over Kiwiland as people want to protect birds from cats.  In a small community a number of cats disappeared and they ended up with an explosion of rodents eating birds, their eggs, and attacking nests.

But these morons don’t think like that.
Like DDT, which effectively kills mosquitos, which also is harmless to mammals, including humans, was banned because some woman said it was known to thin the eggshells of birds. Now, in Florida, the biggest threat to the bird population IS mosquitos!

Thousands of children die in Africa every year from mosquitos but DDT is banned!

"DDT did a job on me, now I am a real sicky'. "Guess I'll have to try to tell'em that I got no cerebellum'. "All the girls are in love with me!' "I'm a teenage lobotomy!" Lobotomy--The Ramones
My girlfriend thinks I'm a stalker. Well...she's not my girlfriend "yet".

I discovered a new vitamin that fights cancer. I call it ...B9

I also invented a diet pill. It works great but had to quit taking it because of the side effects. Turns out my penis is larger and my hair grew back. And whoa! If you think my hair is nice!

When does size truly matter? When it's TOO big!

I'm currently working on a new pill I call "Destenze". However...now my shoes don't fit.

RE: Cats Will Not Take This Lying Down
All of our cats are indoors due to an incident back in 2009. We left our house in the care of a good friend who accidentally let my younger daughter's cat out while we were on vacation. One of the neighbors who didn't like us decided to poison the cat. We had only been back from vacation for three days when the cat started convulsing and all her organs started shutting down. Our only course of action was to have her humanely euthanized because at that point, she had literally lost 13 pounds and there was no chance of saving her.

This traumatized my daughter. Never again. We always make sure doors are immediately shut and locked. Screens are regularly checked in all windows and we do what we have to in order to make sure our babies don't get out.

And did you seek recompense from the prick?

If you think cats have 'human masters', you have clearly never been owned by a cat.

Dogs have masters, cats have staff.
