Easy. The RCC opposition to birth control. In the first world nobody pays any heed to it and use whatever they like. In the third world, the RCC gets to lay down the law. And they like that very, very much. Power, control. Oh yes, they get off on that big time.

Now it might be that you can question my claim. Well, I live in a western democracy, always have. RCC had a death grip on it. Contraception was illegal. People went to prison over it purely on the RCC say so. Clergy were revered simply because they were clergy.

Now, they are fotally tucked. 

Religionists have wilfully chosen to make themselves utterly irrelevant. Nobody made them do it. They did it all of their lonesome.
