If I was him; I would've confessed and took asylum in Turkey or Europe

Just curious Atlas - if you could leave your country and go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I really am trying to understand why we "need" their oil so much where there are other less violent countries we could be getting our supply from.
I suppose there's always russia?  Wink

The temperature seems perfect their for my MS, also Canada is not a stranger to the sickness. Also both are distant from the corruption of Arab governments, I can pretty much talk there without finding criticism for my views.

A Turkish source said that the samples taken from inside the consulate, match the samples taken from inside the consul house, the Turks compared to Kashoggi's blood samples supplied by the U.S :

http://www.aljazeera.net/news/arabic/201...9%82%D8%A9

Quote:Turkish investigators found that the samples taken from the home of the Saudi consul in Istanbul that matched samples of the consulate building after finding evidence that Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi was killed in the consulate, while Turkish investigators continue to search the house.

"The samples we found at the Saudi consul's house are identical to the samples in the consulate building," a source in the Turkish prosecutor's office told AlJazeera on Wednesday evening.

The source added that the investigators asked for samples of Khashoggi from the United States where he was staying.

Meanwhile, the inspection continues inside the house of the Saudi consul Mohammed al-Otaibi by the joint working group formed on the disappearance of Khashoggi. The Turkish team entered the house about two hours after the entry of the Saudi team.

Turkish police have brought police dogs to participate in the search, and the Turkish investigation team used a drone to take pictures of the house and its surroundings from the air.

Al-Jazeera reporter in front of the house said that the Turkish investigation team thoroughly examined the garden of the house, swimming pool, roof and upper rooms, adding that investigators are using all means to verify the possibility of traces of the death or burial of Khashoggi's body.

A source in the Istanbul prosecutor's office confirmed that the inspection would include all the rooms and the interior of the house, and that finding Khashoggi's body or knowing how to get rid of them was an urgent question to ask for inspection of the consulate cars believed to have been used.

Two days ago, the Turkish and Saudi investigation teams conducted a nine-hour inspection of the Saudi consulate building. A source at the prosecutor's office said the initial elements of the investigation confirmed Khashoggi's death inside the consulate despite attempts to blur it.

Earlier on Wednesday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mouloud Gawishoglu expressed his regret over the delay in the inspection of the consul's home. The Saudi side was on the pretext that the Consul's family - which had suddenly left for Riyadh - was still at home.

The only thing I can think of, is that they cut him to pieces and drowned the body parts in acid. That's why they didn't want the turkish police in the consul house for two weeks: enough maybe for the body parts to melt? I'm not a doctor, I am just guessing.

Have you thought about trying to leave?

Having MS in Saudi Arabia sounds like a horror novel. I'm sorry you have so much on your plate.

Honestly, it's a horror story with you playing the zombie. The heat literally turn you into one. The heat and the poor psychological state are just the perfect mix to worsen your MS.
I tried to leave but I failed. Read about it a lot after finding that I am reaching a blocked road in here.

I agree that the whole thing would be the downfall of MBS, and perhaps the whole corrupt royal family

I think Brennan is a bit overly optimistic. If a different president were in the white house, it's possible that pressure could be applied to the Saudis to hold Salman accountable in some form. However, nobody in the Middle East possesses enough leverage to force any concessions from the Saudis, and Trump appears determined to sweep the matter under the rug. It will be an embarrassment and a troubling time for Salman and the Saudis, but in the words of a recent U.S. politician, they will "push through this."

The Sauds are choosing a new crown prince as it seems; and they chose the brother of "Mohammed bin Salman", his name is "Khalid bin Salman", he was the kingdom's ambassedor in the U.S:

http://www.aljazeera.net/news/arabic/201...9%87%D8%AF

Quote:France's Le Figaro reported that the Suadi Allegiance Council has secretly met to choose a Crown Prince, Le Figaro newspaper reported.

The newspaper quoted a diplomatic source that if the appointment of Saudi ambassador to Washington, Prince Khalid bin Salman in this position, it would mean that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will leave office, but not immediately, but in the medium term.

Given the growing international pressure caused by the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Le Figaro has since begun to look and take the highest interest in the so-called dubious case of Mohammed bin Salman, Le Figaro said.

The newspaper said it had confirmed the news from a Saudi source in Riyadh.

"If Prince Khalid bin Salman is appointed crown prince, it means that his brother Mohammed will leave office in the medium term, which means that the Salman family branch will retain power, and that is the king's priority," a Saudi source was quoted as saying.

If the committee and Crown Prince appointed the Crown Prince from a branch other than the King Salman branch, that would mean that Mohammed bin Salman would retain power (effectively) after the Khashoggi crisis.

It is noteworthy that the Saudi ambassador returned to Riyadh from Washington after the outbreak of the case of the disappearance of the Saudi journalist in his consulate in Istanbul, The New York Times quoted US official sources that he will not return to Washington as ambassador.

Ambassador Khalid Bin Salman made statements on Khashoggi's case, saying that the cameras of the consulate in Istanbul were not recording on the day of the journalist's visit.

Source: Al Jazeera, Le Figaro

Changing the crown prince but keeping the Sauds in power doesn't change anything; the problem is with this family; not with a single member of it.

A "scapegoat" is all they need to cheat punishment, and as it seems they already began to do so.
With Trump's support this way out can succeed, and the royal family will not be touched, except for MBS.

But they will never sweep it under the rug. They can cheat the punishment, but washing this off is something I can't see, the crime is too exposed and too obvious to be swiped under a rug.
