Indeed.
Just because it's such a good analogy. The guy built a thempark with a lava cesspit in it...so he's already on the hook for that. Unsatisfied, he adorned it with a slide. That seems more than a little bit intentional. Not exactly one of those "oh, sorry yall, we accidentally left an open cesspit of lava over there". Then, to cap it off, as the theme park operator watches people q up and slide down into the lava cesspit that he built..and adorned with a slide..he says "no, stop, don't do it". To top it all off..it's apparently the most fun slide in the whole damned place!
Nope. Nopenopenopenopenope. That's not even minimum effort, especially compared to the effort went into the themepark, with the lava cesspit, adorned with a slide....that's superduper fun.

Your argument is that the guy at the top of the slide, that is telling you to go right and not left to the lava, is not trying hard enough to stop you from making a stupid choice?
Well, gawd is the one who allegedly built the whole damned water park. It didn't have to include a pool of lava.

You're not reading it in the right context. Or some such similar bullshit.

Exactly, the context wherein a person can leave a cesspit of lava in the middle of their themepark, build a slide over it, and not be held responsible.
IOW, conservative paradise.

As I grew older, I asked many Christian proselytizers, "If everything you're claiming about Christianity is so true and so convincing, why does it have to be backed up by a violent threat?"
Invariably, they either remain mute on the subject or deny that the promise of Hell for wrongdoers is a threat.

Obviously you're only supposed to think about your most hated enemies being tossed into the fire below. Not the sweet boy down the street that mows your grass, but just doesn't believe in god as fervently as you do. Not likable people that didn't really do anything wrong, except not believe in your interpretation of your god.

Your deity built a waterslide with a fork in it? That's a crime against humanity in and of itself. Bye-bye testicles, and no the ladies will not be immune to the crotch-destroying lane divider.
And then your deity gave the knowledge of this lava pool to the most obscure bunch of nomadic goathearders that he could find.
And your idea of paradise is dropping into the pool full of water where you will spend eternity listening to the screams of your friends, neighbours, ancestors, and offspring being tormented in the lava pool, being utterly powerless to help them, and being forced to sing the praises of the "Merciful and Loving Deity" that installed a lava pool on the waterslide. Remind me what's so bad about lava again.
BTW, how long would you, personally, hold my head under the lava? Because I'm betting that you're less monstrous than your god.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the notion of sin is idiotic.

The thing about the worst people like dictators and oppressors, they depend on two: "supporters" (often likeable people) and "watchers" (sit by and let the evil happen).
According to hadiths attributed to Ahlulbayt (as) and proven by Quran, and they even quote Jesus in this respect, the watchers are partners with the oppressors.
This is a rational stance. It's easy to be good and neglectful. But it's also a paradox to be good and watch the oppressors have their way.
To be good is to be with the oppressed and against the oppressors. And to do that, one most be with the truthful leaders from God who show the truth and way to justice, though at times, afflictions and turmoil hits the ship of salvation pretty hard, we have to be patient.
Most evil people usually think their actions are good. Watchers who watch oppressors and do nothing, they will be awakened to a rude awakening.
