As a Christian, I’ve never felt like there is some “war on Christmas.” I myself tell people “happy holidays” because I don’t know if they are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, atheist, or whatever. Living in the Bible Belt, I receive a lot of “Merry Christmas’s.” No one is telling Christians we can’t say Merry Christmas.

Not going to lie to you. I will argue the outrageous fantastic claims of the birth and the death myths. But as far as human rights I agree. I don't like anyone assuming what I hold to be true, if you don't know, ask. "Happy Holidays" is not about being politically correct, it is a matter of being polite.

You are correct, there is more than one Holiday in the last months of the year, and in a pluralistic society it is simply a matter of not assuming.

I also don't Celebrate Hanukkah or Ramadan or Kwanzaa. So i am quite sure a Christian isn't going to like me assuming with "Happy Ramadan". "Happy Holidays" covers them all without assuming.

There is a war on xmas, and it is being fought on an individual level by individuals who don't celebrate xmas.  I have pretty much been forced to fight the war on xmas every year for my entire life. Why? Because I don't celebrate xmas and people get pushy about this. People also misunderstand and think that we are fighting for an 'inclusiveness' that we aren't fighting for. We basically just want to be left alone. The skirmishes basically go something like this:

Are you ready for xmas?
No, I don't celebrate xmas.
Why don't you celebrate xmas?  (This is the point at which it becomes sort of a battle. Why do I have to explain why I don't celebrate xmas?)
I am not xian.
You don't have to be xian to celebrate xmas. (Now they are getting pushy)
I'm Jewish. We don't believe in celebrating xmas.
I know some Jewish people who celebrate xmas. (pushy)
Well I don't, and I clearly told you that I don't, and I clearly told you that it would be a violation of my beliefs to celebrate xmas.

I have at least one discussion go like this every single fucking year. Say happy holdidays to me, and I don't mind. Say Merry xmas to me, and I don't mind, although I will not return that greeting. I don't care about inclusiveness.  I just don't want to be forced into the above discussion every year by clueless morons who seem to think that the holiday is some sort of cultural event that everyone has to participate in. And I also think that the morons who believe that it is some sort of cultural thing that everyone has to participate in are frequently not even xians themselves. They are just pushy morons who think that everyone has to do what they do.
