God thinks it's fun to confuse primates. Larsen's God!
You've never seen a chimp's ass, I take it.

DNA went beyond what you are pointing out here and really put the nail in the coffin of old mythology. But yea, evolution was widely accepted even before the Scopes Trial. Even the Scopes trial was political. What was on trial wasn't whether evolution was true, but whether teaching evolution should be illegal. The trial was more or less a put-up job - Scopes was approached by the ACLU to make himself a test case, and he agreed. The trial brought a lot of money into a small town, which was the whole point. Thanks for the original video. Loved it.
I do think the "survival of the fittest" meme is one to be avoided. Evolution isn't about always being healthy, it ultimately is merely about getting to the point of reproduction. A healthy individual form of life can die before reproducing, while a not so fit individual life can reproduce then die. The argument against "survival of the fittest" I like to make is this. Say two guys are at a bar. One guy is 5 foot 2 and has a gun and fat as a pig, and had kids prior to going into the bar. The other guy is 6 foot 5, washboard abs, and no kids going into the bar. The short fat guy accidentally spills a beer on the fit guy, the fit guy gets angry, tries to start a fight with the fat guy, but the fat guy shoots and kills the fit guy. In this case the fat guy won at evolution, because he had kids and the fit guy did not. The host of that video got it right, it is "survival of the luckiest." But more to the point, "the ability to adapt." (March 25, 2019 at 2:35 pm)Brian37 Wrote: Thanks for the original video. Loved it. Biologists don't like the phrase, either. I think they get tired of explaining that, in evolutionary terms, 'fitness' refers only to rate of reproduction. Boru

But yea, evolution was widely accepted even before the Scopes Trial. Controversy sells and self absorbed atheists are some of the biggest suckers for it the world has ever seen. Right now, some people are trying to put together a reality show with flat earthers. It will be a show for suckers. The subject material is intentionally stupid so that people can feel like geniuses when they buy books proving that the earth is round. The evolution controversy is exactly the same thing. And probably every single one of you has parted with some of your hard earned cash to take part in it. A lunatic fringe that denies evolution was marketed to you people because you're dumb as fuck.
We do not inherit the world from our parents. We borrow it from our children.
