The girl scouts do not have these restrictions. yet the church does... that is discrimination."

WRONG.

http://www.gscnc.org/content/dam/girlsco...elines.pdf

Looks like some dumb ass stopped at a declaration but did not look to see if the girl scouts where being held to this rule... Meaning if idk one could find a political advertisement endorsing idk say clinton durning her run for president, that would indeed show supremely how discriminatory the 'dims' are, allowing the GSA to endorse clinton while churches are strictly watched and punished for doing the same.

wait a tick...
what do we have here?
https://www.facebook.com/hillaryclinton/...3209419540

boom sucka..

watch the whole thing all the way to the end.

So how does it end? even if you can't say it it ends with Clinton's personal campaign logo, making this exchange between clinton and the girl scouts a campaign ad!!! HOW MUCH MORE PROOF DO YOU NEED?

you are not this stupid right?
you are just grasping for straws and hope I am stupid and i don't know how endorsements work right?
-or
Are you saying the girl scouts knew nothing of the then ex first lady congress woman Secretary of state and dualy elected democratic presidential candidate just showing up at some girl scout cookie stand out of the blue with a film crew having not vetted the parents (to make sure they supported her and not trump) just show up out of the blue? Are you so stupid as to think this was not all practiced and rehearsed walked through over and over again take after take till every little girl spoke clearly without hands in their mouths without lifting up their dresses without looking into the camera 100 different times? You've never put on a production of any kind with kids have you? those little girls where way comfortable which means they where doing this weeks before clinton arrived.
-But...
Let's say you are right and this was all just on the spur of the moment while Clinton was on her way home and she decided to stop at a local kroger and the girl scouts just happend to be out front.

why weren't the kids faces blurred? (meaning underage children have to have a release form signed to be put on tv release form means endorsement) why where the girl scout logos blurred? meaning the GSA has a standing order to not support a candidate. if this was done against the consent of the GSA then where is the blow back where is the news story where the GSA formally object to clinton using their IP to support her campaign? Trump can even use a song that has been made apart of the public domain with out the artist bitching about it because he does not support trump.

here's another nail:

Panic oh wait the girl scouts did Not bring the camera that recorded this either I guess that means you are right. Panic

The fact that they where invited to the white house lawn to camp out and have a photo opp with the obamas is something all 501 and 503 tax exempt organizations have the opportunity to do, so long as they have nothing to do with God, and are in good standing with that particular political party.

face it sport there is a double standard here.

You seem to have difficulty differentiating between ACTUALLY endorsing candidates versus politicians engaging with a group.
If you cannot tell the difference and insist the GS is some political propaganda machine, then that is on you.

However, if you see that they pray before meals and before a game and after a game, he should know they're Christians going into it, and I hope you've had a discussion about what that means for him. I consider some conformity the cost of socialization, and as a parent I would hope you wouldn't force him to join the group just so you can single out those Christian boys from the team or their coaches.

4.@Losty On the second point you make my case. I agree it was a horrible example because both of us agree that trans jokes, regardless of the audience are discriminatory and wrong. What we don't agree on is that saying a prayer publicly is wrong. How is saying a prayer with an audience discriminatory or wrong, exactly? I don't believe my right to my free speech ends if I am making others hurt or uncomfortable, otherwise it's not FREE speech. I believe there is a certain amount of discomfort in any social contract as it's a compromise and in compromises neither side gets all of what they want. I believe I am abusing my right to Free speech when I am intentionally saying something that hurts someone else.

Yea, are you kidding me? Lol. No, I wouldn’t force my son to join a sports team just so I could “single” out the entire team for being Christian. We actually really had this issue with his team and I just privately made the request to the coaches that they keep their prayers to themselves and don’t make it a group thing. They were very nice about it after I gently suggested that I would go to the directors of the organization if needed. I would never force my son to join anything he doesn’t want to join lol. My son wants to play football, football is not a religious activity, there is zero reason why he shouldn’t be allowed to join a team just because most of the other players are Christians. There’s also no reason why he shouldn’t be free from an adult asking him to join a prayer during football, that’s extremely inappropriate for an adult to discuss any religious matters with a child that he doesn’t know well enough to know their religious views and/or without permission from their parents.

Saying a prayer publicly is not wrong. I never said it was. (I personally have issues with praying over sporting events but that’s aside from the point) If you want to say it out loud at the grocery store that’s fine by me, some people might ask you not to and that would be up to the company how they deal with that. What is 100% wrong is to ask for a group prayer when you’re an adult and they’re children and when you’re a coach and they’re players and when you’re in a position of authority. In that case, it is wrong for you to even say your prayer out loud where everyone who wants to play football is forced to listen. You don’t have any rights to free speech within a sports organization anyway. Free speech is a person or community’s freedom to voice their opinions without government retaliation, censorship, or legal penalties. Freedom of speech does not mean you can say anything you want anywhere you want to anyone you want without consequences. The organization is well within their rights to not allow group prayer during sports events. Also, even if free speech did apply here, the Supreme Court has already ruled in favor of the rights of a captive audience outweighing the rights of an individual or group’s freedom of speech.

It's not free speech when you have a captive audience.

Edit: Apologies Losty, I see that you covered it.

There's way to much "look at me, look at me - I am a goooooood Christian - hear me pray, see me pray - see me put children into situations where they must pray ".

I guess instead of just living the life you claim to live it's necessary to make public displays of faith...it only counts if it's broadcast. What a load of bull.

It's one of the most unattractive things about most Christians.

Prove what kind of person you are by how you behave not by showing what a good pray-er you are.

Matthew 6:5-6 And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
