Marginalized sports

Hello Everybody !
I'd like to speak with you about marginalized sports in the media (TV , Radio , Magazines about sport , Internet etc...).
In North America sports like American football , Basketball and Baseball are popular.
But outside of North America the existence of US football and baseball are known but these sports aren't popular and the majority of those living outside of N.America don't known rules of these sports with the exception of Japan in which baseball is popular.
In Europe soccer is a popular sport but it's not popular in North America.
In Europe basketball is less popular than soccer and basketball is less popular in Europe than in North America.
Handball is more popular in Europe than North America and this sport doesn't seem to be known by the majority of people living in North America.
Australian football , Beach soccer , Gaelic football , Floorball , Korfball and many others sports aren't highly mediatized.
What to do in order to favorize marginalized sports in media ? What's yours ideas ?

Being able to hold one's head upright and continue to speak coherent sentences after having imbibed enough scotch to hospitalize the average fraternity pledge might not be considered a sport to you. But I assure you, it IS a sport, and I've won. So the losers have to pay my tab. Those are the rules.

Athletes from two different sports should compete in a third sport in which none of the players have expertise. For instance, a US football team and an Irish hurling team play a game of basketball. The resultant increasing in injuries and maiming would be sure to garner increased media attention.

You're creative. I think this is a fun idea but I don't think there would be any sponsor for a project like this. 
Are you serious? The prospect of violence and mayhem accounts for the overwhelming majority of sponsorships. What do people like in American football? The tackles. What do people like in auto racing? The crashes. What do people like in baseball? A dugout-clearing brawl.
Trust me - if you combine American football with Irish hurling (for those that don't know, it's been described as the love child of field hockey and murder) and put these two in an indoor court with wooden floors, Budweiser would sponsor that shit in half a minute.

Meh, only if the players don't stand during the anthem.
I'd like to see paintball added to golf. Only on the putts. The opponents can only shoot you from 15 feet away and only in the back and legs. I figure if you can still make that putt while getting pelted with paintballs, you deserve it.

I'd go one further and make every 20th golf ball explosive. This idea will probably never come to fruition, as I understand that (in most places) it's still a misdemeanor to kill a golfer.
Stupid, archaic laws.
