To be clear, I do not agree with OB here. Revenge porn is a crime and a generally shitty thing to do to anyone. I dont see why shes resigning, to be honest, in the sense that she did nothing wrong, so long as all parties were consenting and she wasnt pressuring her employees to fuck her lest they lose their jobs or something.

But do you guys honestly see no problem with the way you respond to people you disagree with politically?

That's his brand - it's not as if he makes these gems for any reason other than troll value. If you wanted to get het up and wring your hands about the state of politics in this country, perhaps you should also pay a little more attention to what happened..rather than going white knight on a guy who got exactly what he wanted in his bait thread?

What hope can there be for our government when distributing revenge porn and convicting a woman of being a hoor is seen as a campaign strategy? Or when a significant portion of voters see the hoor and not the sex crime? Or...for that matter, when muffdiving and bong rips yield death threats from that same portion?

Personally, I think it's a shame that one half of our already impoverished two party system is imploding the way that it is. Worse still...it's what the voters of that half seem to want. It's not as if the other half doesn't put up atrocious candidates that we really need alternatives to.

For example, i couldnt care less about the fact that trump used to sleep with a pornstar. Dont care - at all. So long as everything was consensual between the two adults, who cares? Im much more concerned about his attitudes toward women in general, displayed by comments hes made, than i am about a consensual, sexual relationship he had with another adult.

The point not being that the two situations are similar - the point being that idc what consenting adults do behind closed doors.

If we were to condemn this woman for wanting to have freaky sex, what does that make the rest of us? Freaky sex is one of the best parts of being human. Politicians are not above that.

*sigh* It's not Trump's politics I have a problem with. It's him as a person. I disliked him very long before he ever entered the political arena. It's not insane to be pretty much fine with an asshole getting some of his own. Let's not forget that Trump has been accused of rape multiple times, and it seems quite likely he's guilty of it at least once. I don't go out of my way to feel bad for predators. I'm sorry if you think that's "insane," but you're very much mistaken if you think my dislike for him is even remotely about his politics. There are plenty of Republicans who support similar politics to Trump that I don't dislike on a personal level.
