Screen time and the preschool brain

Screen time and the preschool brain
This study says it changes the structure of white matter.

"In this cross-sectional study of 47 healthy prekindergarten children, screen use greater than that recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines was associated with (1) lower measures of microstructural organization and myelination of brain white matter tracts that support language and emergent literacy skills and (2) corresponding cognitive assessments."

As a homeschooler.....limiting screen time is difficult. There are so many fantastic apps that, in addition to the usual youtube time..I've got my kids staring at a screen from sunup to sundown. It would be a shame if that was fucking with their wee little minds.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

[Bold mine]

No it isn't.  It's be a tremendous inconvenience to you, but it isn't difficult.

That solution is a bit extreme isn’t it?

Who wants to talk to kids??

No...it's pretty difficult Boru, lol. The apps generate time and reports that are required by the state..and are exactly what public school teachers put kids on. If I didn't do it, and god forbid some state employee came to see how my kids were doing..there would be trouble. If I ever want my kids to reconnect with the public system....say....for college, they have to have that body of record built.

Funny thing about home schooling..they don't just take a parents word for it. But thanks for playing, ya fucking cock. Wink
