An email from my audiologist at the beginning of all this let me know that there are face masks made for the deaf and hard of hearing that have clear panels over the mouth.  

As an aside.  Reading lips isn't the most important aspect.  Facial expressions are crucial to sign language.

Am I not allowed to post frequently or start multiple threads on completely different topics? Do I really have to "find something else to do"? If you weren't talking about me then feel free to ignore this. But I actually think I meet the requirements you state: I have made a string of threads and I've responded to multiple threads.. But they are on separate topics. And I don't think I'm doing anything wrong. And I don't see why I should find something else to do. So, hopefully, this wasn't directed at me.

EDIT: I see what you mean, now. You're not talking about starting threads. You are talking about responding to threads .... and the same poster having made the same last post across multiple threads---that has got to refer to me because I'm the most frequent poster at the moment. Well, I will just reduce my questions to: Am I not allowed to post frequently? And am I actually doing anything wrong? And why should I find something else to do?

Very cool!  I started ASL in 2009 and then had to have major surgery that severely limited the range of motion and control of of my arms and hands and had to stop.

I did take some classes on Deaf Culture and hate that I got derailed from the path.

Now I suffer from hearing loss but am still able to get along fairly well with, and without, my hearing aids depending on the setting.

That's only if you know sign language, which is why most deaf people rely on reading lips in order to understand what hearing people are stating.

Also, do you think everyone's going to wear a mask with a clear view of their mouth just in case they encounter a deaf person?

Some of us can't read facial expressions (or we misread them so often that it's a bad idea to try)! I rely on verbal language.
