You are the one who brought up the horror of cold fries.

I've got to say, this is like a fine wine to me.  The city drops the charges against her boyfriend, he files suit - they settle for 12 mil with her family (not doing them any favor), promises are made from the station to the statehouse......and the prosecutors failed to convince a group of jurists that there was anything at all worth taking to trial?

Not exactly matlock in the fuckin courtroom, are they.

Failed?  Did they even try?  The Attorney General appeared to side with police all the fucking way.  Giving their version of events, and essentially acting like their fucking attorney.  You know, not the type of grand jury process most people get, except the fucking pigs.

It isn't a prosecutor's job to charge people with anything they "could" possibly be charged wtih.  They have a duty to only charge if they believe the evidence and law supports a charge, and that there is a reasonable chance of conviction.  Anything else is prosecutorial misconduct.

It is the prosecutors job to convince a grand jury that there's enough for a case go to trial.  They failed.

You concern trolling over fairness, or objecting to some point of fact?

Is there enough for a case to go forward?

That the innocent shouldn’t have to die is not enough, and in principle can not be enough, to convict those who caused the death.

You're right.  I apologize for calling them pigs.  It's very unfair to pigs.  Pigs have done nothing to me to warrant that comparison.

If two officers genuinely mistakenly believed a innocent person Imminently threatened both their lives.   One shot the innocent person dead, the other fired randomly to scare the innocent person but hit a school bus instead.

I can see why under this circumstance the cop who shot the innocent person dead is less culpable the cop who shot a school bus even if no one in the school bus was killed.

The cop who killed the innocent person did a thing that was justifiable within the Genuine mistaken perception of the situation.

The cop who shot the school bus did a thing that was reckless even within the genuine mistaken perception of the situation.

No no no no no........

The warrant was based on bad info.......... The boyfriend shot, because he didn't know who was at the door.

There is no excuse for anyone to die.

Really?   That shots are being fired at me while I had reason to think i am acting properly in line of duty is not sufficient excuse for me to use potentially lethal force to preempt my actually being shot?

If you break into someone's house unannounced?  Fuck no, it's not sufficient.

Just like them hippie chicks who spit on soldiers coming back from Nam. Some day you will lie and tell everyone you always support the police.
