God so hated the world

God so hated the world
He hated his human creations so much that he drowned them all, thinking only one family was worthy of a second go via incest.

He hated us so much, that he preferred joining forces with the devil to torture poor Job.

He hates us so much that he allows the devil to live when he has no problems allowing children to starve, be raped, and die of cancer.

That is not a loving god. That is a monster.

“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”

Free will creates perfect workers like Elon Musk. And serial killers. If we presume that God exists, he respects our free will by distancing himself from us.

I had a guy in my face because I was reading The God Delusion in a doctor's waiting room. I tried ignoring him, which resulted in him getting even more outraged. Poor man missed his appointment when the VA security cops escorted him off the premises.

I made that same observation when I had to read the Bible in Catholic school. It was many decades before I heard of Richard Dawkins.  Read
"The world is my country; all of humanity are my brethren; and to do good deeds is my religion." (Thomas Paine)

I’ve always felt John 3:16 to be one of the most abhorrent Biblical verses. If you believe in Jesus, you’re golden. If you don’t believe - for whatever reason - you’re doomed. The verse encourages thoughtcrime at its very worst.

Well, that’s your own fault, innit? Freedom of religion only applies to religious people.

I recently took a 3.5 hour train journey and passed the time listening to TGD audiobook. Thoroughly entertaining and the journey flew by. Recommend  Great

One thing I learned is that there are in fact 8 other gospels which didn't make it into the new testament, including such stories of an "impish" baby Jesus who mischievously larked around, doing such things turned his playmates into goats, turning mud into birds and magically "lengthening" a piece of wood to help his "dad" with the carpentry.  Hehe

Even by the stringent christard math there is a 4,000 year gap between the creation, and the I am what I am announcement.

What was this particular magic sky pixie doing all that time?

Did all those that preceded the announcement go straight to satan's boarding house, or were they given a free pass?

If Noah and the rest of the incestuous grand prize winning family hailed Mesopotamia, and resembled modern day Iraqis/Iranians, why are there so many varying degrees of humans?

Even the slightest application of logic brings this poorly constructed house of card tumbling to the ground.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
